This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Ha! It inspires me to sit at my desk and generate subsectors.

This was my other inspiration back in the day, for DragonQuest.

Okay,

So stopping by here to address what happened with the last Old School Inspirational Art Thread, as I've had a number of people contact me about it, to the point I guess I need to address it.

Just to be clear, my intentions were not to upset anyone. I was actually rather surprised at how upset some people got over it. To explain from my Point of view: the thread was dead; a few posts after I was gone, but by the time I stopped by to grab the links I'd posted the thread was no longer on the front page of the forum. I assumed it was destined to go quietly into the night and all that. And so I began going into each of my posts, grabbing the links and pasting them to emails to myself, and then deleting the posts. But actually deleting the posts turned out to be a lot of work. The forum software requires three separate confirmations, which included scrolling down. Maybe nothing for one post, but when dealing with dozens, including the acts of copying and pasting, it was simply wasting too much of my time.

So I tried leaving the posts blank, but the forum wouldn't accept that either. So, on a whim, I decided to replace the posts with joke pictures. It made me laugh. It still does. Maybe its my weird, black, sense of humour, but I found the multiple Fatal covers, the pictures of Brony cosplay, and the weird horror pics left behind as hilarious. I pictured some poster months from now maybe getting curious and searching the thread and finding them. And I quite literally LOL'd.

Unfortunately what seems to have happened instead is that people have interpreted this as some sort of "attack" on The RPGSite, or vindictive passive aggressiveness against Pundit or the forum because I left. Even worse, at least one poster saw this as a form of cross-forum drama, as if it had something to do with the RPGPub. Apparently because I'm a moderator there, I in some way "represent" that forum in my actions elsewhere online, something I'd never consider and I'm not entirely sure I'm comfortable with. The Pub isn't my forum, certainly not in the way theRPGSite is Pundit's forum.

And speaking of Pundit, yes he interpreted it as some sort of..."childish fit" I think is the phrase he used? But then, that's the Pundit. He's an emotional man, and sees things through an emotional lens. For the record, though, Pundit's claim that I left theRPGSite because he has different politics than me was simply a falsehood on his part. EVERYone has different politics than me. I could care less.

Anyways, thats all besides the point. Regardless of my intentions, taking into account the reactions I've recieved, I must accept that I erred. And so I'm here to offer to everyone on theRPGsite, a formal apology. Especially I want to apologize to those other posters who also contributed to that thread whose work was marred by my ill-thought out and selfish attempt to amuse myself.

Fascists are leaving here and going to a Free Speech, No Politics forum.

Whatever.
