This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Has anyone been watching this? Seems like the tone is way off from classic Traveller. Is this the tone of Mongoose 2e? If it is, I think I'll pass.

Here is a link to the entire 10 episode playlist: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLz3Be--ot61P_-ge1l71k7ps4y8U12H4A

Oh, sweet ass-fucking Jesus on a pogo stick.....

OK, if you are deciding whether or not you like the tone of a game by watching a shitty Youtube video done by wannabee actors, then you have already failed as a gamer. Go back to D&D and Critical Role with the rest of the retard spectators.

You want to find out if the tone of the actual game is right for you, then get the Goddamn books and read them. Hell, if you are in the continental United States, then I will mail you a copy of Classic Traveller and Mongoose Traveller 1e so you can make an informed decision.

Come to this forum. Ask questions. You'll get answers and not everyone is a pissed off old fart like me who will give them to you.

Now, do you want to man up and get the books or what?
"Meh."

I'm watching this and I play Traveller - my first and only campaign has been going for three years.  Seth Skorkowski is a guest player on that show and I like his own youtube channel - He did 10 episodes on how to play Traveller/Review, but he mostly does CoC stuff, so I thought I'd check it out.

The GM's style is more lenient than I run, but I take it for what it is.  I like the story and enjoy the chemistry between the players.

I like Seth Skorkowski as well. I also agree that the GM is very lenient, but also felt like the story was a bit too fantastical for Traveller. I generally like my Traveller to be more grounded and hard sci-fi.

Haven't watched the videos in question, but let me third the comments on Seth Skorkowski.  Definitely one of my favorite RPG Youtubers.
