This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Searching for material to run an Electropunk game.

Like the tin says, I'm searching for material to run an electropunk game.

You know:

Tesla guns/rifles
Faraday shields
Edison mobiles

That kind of stuff.

Can't find anything other than Edison Force in DTTRPG, but since I don't know it I'm reluctant to buy it (Yes $5 US is enough I can't afford to waste it).

So, if you know of anything that could help me I would be eternally gratefull.

Here is why this forum tends to be so stupid. Many people here think Joe Biden is "The Left", when he is actually Far Right and every US republican is just an idiot.

What the Hell is "Electro punk"?

All those things you describe are 'Steampunk'.

Steampunk = Everything is powered by steam/aether

Electropunk = Everything is powered by, you guessed it, Electricity.

So you don't have the steam powered Mechas, among other things.

But thanks for the snark, very helpful.

It was not "snark' - it was truth .

There are only TWO "Punk" categories - Cyberpunk and Steampunk. Every other use of sticking 'punk as the second half of a category noun is bullshit.

Pinnacle (Savage Worlds) sells a $7 pdf with four mini-settings, one of which is Tesla Rangers. The blurb reads:
QuoteIt's been 11 years since America lost the Robot War and ceded everything west of the Mississippi to the automatons. Now a fresh young scientist with a government contract and a load of new experimental devices is outfitting a voluntary expeditionary force to cross the ol' Miss and head deep into No Man's Land.
Tesla Rangers is a high-octane action adventure pitting cowboys with lightning guns against cast-iron killer robots in a battle for the Wired West.

Thanks, checking it out.

Edited to add:

Not bad, a bit sparse (to be expected is a setting in just a few pages) and it's steampunk gone bad welcome electropunk and clockwork.

One complaint (not a minnor one), the formatting sucks green giant monkey balls. They used text boxes and they overlap constantly leaving you to guess what was written.

For $7 US I would expect at the very least good formatting even if it meant less art. NEVER buying from that publisher again.

Reluctant as I am to cite this game three times in 24 hours, when I haven't played it....Radiance is setting out to be a designated Electrotech RPG. It's based on the D20 OGL, but with some stripping down of the mechanics.

Personally, I am a fan of Electric Bastionland. The tech is about right. The setting might be a little too weird for what youre looking for, Geeky.

Well, the price for the pdf is a bit high, but I'll bite.  ;)

Would Deadlands count, a lot of the tech seemed to be electrical(ish).

I don't know too much about electropunk I must confess.

Oof, so sorry about that. I did not buy the pdf myself, but I remembered there was some talk about a year or two ago. Pinnacle has had some great settings in the past (if you want to run Savage Worlds), so I wouldn't write them off completely, but their quality has been turning to shit lately. I don't think it's laziness, I think they are trying to do too much these days (launching multiple kickstarters at the same time, juggling several active product lines, etc.). They recently gave out a $5 rebate to backers for dealing with a botched product.

So they're making some efforts to address the issues. Sadly, I doubt a "throw-away" pdf is high on their priorty list.

A lot of it is powered by ghost rock, could be converted, and there's a d20 version of it and I own both. Good thinking, worth a look.
