This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Savage Worlds Sci-Fi

Going to be working on a Savage 40k able to do Necromunda as well as the whole FFG 40k line.  What I need from you crazyasses are good Savage Worlds Sci Fi supplements I can steal shit from.  I already have:

Savage Rifts
Old Sci-Fi Toolkits and new Sci-Fi Companion
Interface Zero 2.0
Necropolis and Necropolis 2350
The Last Parsec
Deadlands: Hell on Earth (SW version)

Just wondering if there's any cool SW settings I don't know about.  Like I didn't know about Guild of Shadows for instance.

Isuldur is a badass because he stopped Sauron with a broken sword, but Iluvatar is the badass because he stopped Sauron with a hobbit. -Malleus Arianorum

"Tangency Edition" D&D would have no classes or races, but 17 genders to choose from. -TristramEvans

I think you've really got the best stuff already. High Space might give you some more detailed options for ships, but I don't think the new edition is out yet from last year's Kickstarter. Nemezis would give you a few more weapons and tech as well as monsters to use for translating over. And while it would require some more conversion work, I could easily see modifying the Resource Management supplement from Hellfrost or the community rules in Broken Earth to model a Rogue Trader's mercantile endeavors or an outpost of Space Marines/IG struggling to hold out on some war-torn planet.

Unfortunately, no news yet on when we can expect Savage Flash Gordon.

I expect it will be another year, at least. The next project(s) from PEG will be The Goon and Fear Agent. While Flash Gordon could conceivably come right after those, which likely means it would be hitting Kickstarter within another six months, I think Lost Colony Reloaded will see release first. It's been in the pipeline longer.

The new Sci Fi Companion is great and I see you have it. I also recommend the latest Super Powers Companion, which has some useful material for making aliens and stuff. I'm just recommending blindly as I am not familiar with 40k Lore. But those two books work nice together.

Slipstream is interesting.

Indeed, but it's very much pulp sci-fi/Flash Gordon. I'm not sure how useful it would be for the grim darkness of the far future. :)

Brand55, I'll definitely take a look at Broken Earth and Nemezis. Thanks.

Krimson, Now that you mention it, some of the more insane shit in 40k like C'tan, Primarchs, Avatar of Khaine, Bloodthirsters, Abaddon, etc... might be better handled using Supers rules.  Have to check those out too, thanks.

Anyone know of a Savage Worlds supplement of any type where they create new psychic powers and abilities, not just assume a reskinned fantasy spell? Aside from what I already have I mean.

Ahem, Slipstream would like a word...
It's FG with the serial numbers filed off, and it's awesome.

"Filed off?" Try "barely scratched"--there's a scene straight out of the movie in one of the adventures. I have the PDF, I like it, but I'll be interested to see what they can do with the pulp sci-fi genre when they have access to pure source material and a decade more experience.

I've been running a Star Trek game with Savage Worlds Explorer's edition the past few months. I have some rough notes I found on one site or another, but it's pretty much just SW. You don't really need a lot to make that game work.
