The Were-Grognard

Quote from: Black Vulmea;621583The geography is typical fantasy-fuck-up , but I would go with twelve mile hexes and blame the fucked-up-ness on the whims of the gawds.

Quote from: Blackhand;62164925 miles shall avail you.

In the game (not that it's any authority,) the player moves one hex per day, or two if on horse, which would make each hex about 24mi, although the game doesn't account for terrain.   24mi might be a little too large for my purposes, but 5-6 might be too small.  I wonder if 8-12 would be the happy medium here.

And yes, the geography (esp. the two deserts) definitely looks unnatural, which I like.  Greyhawk "Twin Cataclysms" anyone?

Quote from: The Were-Grognard;621548I'm afraid I can't take credit for it.  It's a map for a solo board game called Barbarian Prince.  It's available for free on the same URL.  Damn fun (if frustrating) game, I might add.

I like the board, so I figure I'd use it kind of like the old Outdoor Survival map.  I'll be copying it to hex paper so that I can make changes, and/or expand it.

Thanks for the 'blast from the past' via the Barbarian Prince map. I had almost forgotten about that game. Yeah, frustrating is a word you could use.

My $0.02 on your conundrum, stick with B/X or LL. I, like you, really like 2e but as others have pointed out, it will "feel" different. I don't think you can really go wrong with the B/X rules.

Good luck and have fun!
