Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Talislanta 4e. While originally a commercial production, the copyright own has made all the Talislanta games editions available for free.
The more clichéd my group plays their characters, the better. I don't want Deep Drama™ and Real Acting™ in the precious few hours away from my family and job. I want cheap thrills, constant action, involved-but-not-super-complex plots, and cheesy but lovable characters.

1. Basic Fantasy is a very nice, complete system.  The free core rules are all you really need, but the many free supplements let you create the game you want.

2. I haven't played it yet, but Venger's Crimson Dragon Slayer D20 looks like it would be fun.  "D&D on Arcade Mode" seems like a good selling point for this one.

3. While Ben Milton's Knave RPG is not free, there are several hacks of it that are.  I created my own Knave hack, titled Book & Blade.  It's a 7 page rules light system for running OSR adventures.  Please feel free to take a look.

My holy grail is to run a game where the players keep dropping quarters into my tip basket at the same rate they used to feed the slots when playing Gauntlet at the arcade. At about $10/player/hour, I could turn GMing a group of 4-5 players into something I could live off of (if I GMed FT).

I find GURPS Lite strips out a lot that you don't need, and that you can always add later.  I've often used it as a handout for people in a full-on GURPS game.  Ultra-Lite distills it even further.

Your Forgotten Realms was my first The Last Jedi.

If the party is gonna die, they want to be riding and blasting/hacking away at a separate one of Tiamat's heads as she plummets towards earth with broken wings while Solars and Planars sing.

The problem is not that power corrupts, but that the corruptible are irresistibly drawn to the pursuit of power. Tu ne cede malis, sed contra audentior ito.

Still love Wushu even though it has gone from free to PWYW (I supported by buying the extras.)  Awesome cinematic action that is super easy to hack. (See 23 Skidoo.)

Also a big fan of Fate Accelerated Edition also for its hackability.
