This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Only problem I see here is having older miniatures that now seem puny next to the newer ones.

Which is a problem for those who can afford to buy 3d miniatures, us broke players have to content with playing with 2d ones, so if I needed to upscale all my giants it would cost me cents on the dollar against your 3d versions.

Which makes it feasible for me but not so much for you.

Sucks to not be poor I guess?
Ehhh, my 3D printer says "Hi!"...

Still more expensive than my laser printer.

How much for one paper sheet? how much for the ink? How much for the plastic adhesive? 50 cents tops? And that would be the price of a miniature that takes one full page. 1 dollar if I need back and front. And I don't believe it gets to that price.
3D is not as cheap, but you could use rocks as tokens if you wanted to be ultra-cheap.  3D minis look a lot better than paper and aren't that much more expensive than paper.  My minis cost about 25 cents per.  Reprinting a dozen orcs costs me $3.00.  If that's too much for your budget, you can't afford to game in the first place.  And, at $250 for the printer, it's not much more than a good laser printer.  It's worth it over paper minis.

My printer cost me way less than that.

If I were to pay for the printing it would be about 5 pesos per page, since I can fit about half a dozen minis per page that's .25 US cents per 6 minis, add the plastic film for protection let's say another .25 cents per mini and I'm still way ahead in price.

What you pay for a resin printer is not the same as to what I would have to pay, plus our standard of living is way lower than yours. Take minimum wage, ours is 70 pesos/day, which translates to 3.5 US dollars per day give or take.

I already own the printer, I would need to buy the other one, plus the resins and the electricity and storing is another place where I can fit hundreds of minis in the space where you can store 50 tops.

A resin printer here goes from 7,000 pesos, so about 1.5 times more expensive than there. I imagine it's the same for the resin.

AND I don't have a place to put it and use it without the whole house stinking of the resin.
So what's your point?  The origin of this discussion was the unaffordability of purchased 3d minis.  You commented that paper was cheaper and people who were "poor" had an advantage(?).  I pointed out that 3d printers were both economical and more attractive.  So, I'm sorry you live somewhere that your economic situation makes that impossible, but it doesn't make the points I made any less accurate or valid.

BTW, How about that Gold Cup final?  ;D

Gold Cup?

Here is why this forum tends to be so stupid. Many people here think Joe Biden is "The Left", when he is actually Far Right and every US republican is just an idiot.
