This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

And on a related note, checking my email this morning I see an email from one of the players that was in my one shot the other week.  He spontaneously sent out the email to others talking about the 4e game and encouraging others to try it (I think this was in reference to another chain of emails where I talked about running another one shot soon, and a campaign in the near future).  This was the player who was most skeptical about 4e in the beginning:

Quote from: From the EmailOne of our biggest complaints we have had with prior versions of the DnD system is it's rules complexity.

After the one shot Josh ran of it, I was very impressed  with how they cleaned it up, and simplified the system, with out losing the feel of it.

Yes, it is different than how versions 1, 1.5, 2, 2.1, 2,2, 3.0, 3.3, 3.5, etc. all work, but after that many versions they were due for one that actually dealt with some of the complaints.

I think they made a big step forward.

I had a chance to browse some of the other books a GM would need to support a game, and was impressed with what they had setup.  Good stuff.  Lots of things for players to work on in developing their characters still.

If you missed Josh's one shot of it, I encourage you to try it, and try to keep an open mind.  It will be different, but I think it's different in a good way.

Thanks for running that Josh!
