As one of those who has been around a bit and seen the, "Rifts would be so much better if it used system X / was redone with a new system," thing more often than thrice, this news fills me with dread.

This is End Times level crap going down here if KS is going to let control slip of his IP or let stuff get tinkered with by outsiders just the littlest tiny fraction of a bit.

Get right with God, folks; you've been warned.

Hyperbole aside, isn't this a case of, "too little, too late," in a sense?
I start from his boots and work my way up. It takes a good half a roll to encompass his jolly round belly alone. Soon, Father Christmas is completely wrapped in clingfilm. It is not quite so good as wrapping Roy but it is enjoyable nonetheless and is certainly a feather in my cap.

AND if KS wasn't just stoned and decided to screw with people's minds...

I think it's a great idea.

That said ... that's too much to bank on. I'm wait-and-see on this.

    Isn't Palladium essentially Old School to begin with? Granted, it looks like it belongs to the "old school" of AD&D, Rolemaster, Chivalry & Sorcery, et al. rather than the OD&D and B/X that informs most of the OSR. :)

The funny thing is, with FFG's 'cinematic' style of system, that's pretty much the goal, no one character is too strong over another.  Can they do that for Rifts?  I don't know.  But as long as that's the design goal, I'll stand behind it.  Far behind it.  Do you know how much damage a MACH 5 projectile causes, without even having to hit something???  Just the sonic boom alone would cause untold deforesting and devastation.

Never thought I would see the day. Now that said 4-10 months in Kevin/Palladium time is somewhere between 14 months and the end of the universe.  I do enjoy Palladium games, but Kev's micromanaging/false promises make me weary.
