The Exploited.

Quote from: Gunslinger;993741I tend to like the 2nd edition mechanics better but still use 1st edition as a campaign resource.

That's the same for me... Better mechanics for the 2e but the lore for 1e is the king.

The Exploited.

Quote from: Skarg;993735Thanks guys.

I think if you like 1e then you'll really like 2e. The differences are pretty subtle but they are definitely apparent. The skills are a little more nuanced too... There are more careers as well.

They've added fortune points (and kept the fate points). You can spend these a couple of times a day. They give you small bonuses in combat (extra dodge, actions, initiative, etc.)
They've also added weapon qualities as well, which I really like. Strength and toughness are now percentages based as opposed to single digits. Gone is the initiative mechanic and is somewhat replaced by an agility stat.

There's more, but it's years since I read the 1e. Sorry...

Quote from: TrippyHippy;993149It may end up yet as the 4th edition being the definitive one.

Quote from: Skarg;993445What are the differences between 1e and 2e?

The magic system is significantly improved. There's some other improvements too but that's the biggest one. And it had a ton of really top-quality sourcebooks, and some great adventures.

Toadmaster

Thanks for posting this. Too bad it doesn't include Dwarves Stone and Steel, I know many are looking for that and hard copies have gotten quite hard to find / expensive. I guess that must have been a 1st ed supplement.

Awesome deal though for what it offers.
