This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Akrasia

Quote from: Settembrini...BE AWArE: Night´s Dark Terror is mostly so sought after because of it´s great relevance for Mystara!
It´s grand scope and outlook really only shine in a Mystara campaign.

I disagree.  B10 could easily be adapted for a different campaign setting and still be great.

FUCK!
I mistook it for Red Arrow Black Shield

Yeah, Akrasia is right. Nights Dark Terror is adaptable. It´s Red Arrow, Black Shield I warn you against using outside of Mystara.
Red Arrow, Black Shield is also darn expensive.

Quote from: Pierce InverarityNight's Dark Terror is the one UK module I never saw, either. Apparently it's awesome. It definitely is expensive on ebay nowadays. Grab it, Doc R. (And make sure it still has the counters.)
It's incomplete.  Just the booklet and the cover.

Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth and its sequel Forgotten Temple of Tharizdun.  Those are my 1e AD&D faves.

I haven't seen Egg of the Phoenix (the much more common, non-tourney version) suggested yet.  It's not terrible and might be worth looking at.

My overall favourite module from that era is, surprise surprise, B10 Night's Dark Terror, but it's not 1e AD&D so I'm surprised to see it get mentioned in this thread... then again, it is that good.

neither is B2, but you can't mention "d&d" and "module" without that monster condo-plex getting mentioned.  which is fine.

I was just looking through my Giant series the other day - and I can't find the last one!

Giant Series. (G1-3)
Slavers Series.  (A1-4)
Keep on the Borderlands. (B2)
In Search of the Unknowns (B1)

And I had the same initial reaction to Barrier Peaks - what the fuck is this, Gamma World?

G3 The Fire Giants one...IIRC...it's been a while since I looked (before a few days ago).  I wonder if I put it somewhere else...

I don't know how far afield you want to range, but I loved Caliban--it was an Arduin dungeon, which was pretty indistinguishable from D&D at than time. All the Arduin dungeons rocked, but Caliban was my favorite.
Employment Counselor: So what do you like to do outside of work?
Oblivious Gamer: I like to play games: wargames, role-playing games.
EC: My cousin killed himself because of role-playing games.
OG: Jesus, what was he playing? Rifts?

I bought reprints of the first three Grimoires a couple of months ago. I'm still reeling!
