I will play a half-ogre (LA+2) barbarian 10in an upcoming campaign.

I know that I get the starting gold of a 12th level character.

Do I get the feats/stat increases of a level 10 or 12 character?

Yes, so instead of 10,000 xp to get to 11th level your going to need 12,000 xp.  So if your DM gave you a set amount of experience to make a character then your character would only be a 8th level barbarian.

Actually, we rolled a d20 to determine the starting level of the campaign :)

If you can get your INT to 13 take expertise and improved trip.

A Half-Ogre 10th Level Barbarian is an ECL of 16th level character.

10 (Barbarian levels) + 2 (Level Adjustment) + 4 (Racial Hit Dice) = 16.

So you should start with the XP of the 16th level character and gold of one. And get your next class level when you get to 17th level.

Unless your GM is using the optional rule to buy down the level adjustment. In which case you could have bought it down at 6th and 9th level.

At a cost of 11,000 xp (at the 6th level Barbarian) plus 13,000 (at 9th level Barbarian) so you'll be 23,000 xp behind any other PC's without a LA race.

Why in the world would it be ECL 16? :confused: LA +2, Lvl.10 = 12
