This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

This is a thread for the collectors.  What books have you recently obtained?  I’d like to see them.    :o

Cyberpunk Red.  I’m a big fan of 2020 in theory since I’ve never played it. I had to get this since it was so highly anticipated.

Punkapocalyptic.  Based on a miniatures game.  Robert Schwalb wrote this one. It’s a crazy read.

Mork Borg.  Definitely a collector’s piece for me.  Seems hard to run.  Really stylish production values.

Vaesen.  Another one from Free League based on Zero Engine.  This book is gorgeous.  The publisher is the shit.  I’m in a MYZ group right now.

Its been a pretty dry season recently but luckily the Kickstarters came through:

Legendary Planet Adventure Path has taken many many years to complete but finally made it in the end.

Rise of the Drow is a very pretty looking book, unfortunately for 5th Edition but I am still a sucker for anything Dark Elf related.

Introduced my kids to RPGs this week.  Character creation and first foray into Moldvay's D&D basic.  Couldn't find Expert, so I got a used copy.

Big fan of the Alien franchise.  Saw this and was intrigued.  Rules seem great.  Going to do a one shot cinematic play soon.

All very exciting!

Introducing your kids to TTRPG's is a lot of fun.

Out of my 3 kids only one joined my Friends & Family group that has been together for 30+ years.

Seeing as how I live in a wasteland of gaming, and recently I was working in the PNW, where I happen to be friends with the owners of FLGS, though such freindships have waned with the passing of years, my list of recent acquistions is absurdly large, even by my standards...

I have the Invisible Sun Black Box, Part Time Gods (2e), Synthecide, 7th Sea (Current Year Edition), Aethireum, About four Cyberpunk 2020 books, SuperAge, Hack the Planet, Shinobigami, Ryuutama, The Expanse, ICONS, Eclipse Phase 2E, Sunward and Rimward (both for EP 1E), Battlelords of the 23rd Century 7E, John Carter of Mars, Starfinder, Interface Zero for Starfinder, Mutant Year Zero: Elysium, and a couple of RIFTS supplements... and that's just what I remember.

All bought since September of 2020.

Hello, my name is Spike, and I have a problem....
For you the day you found a minor error in a Post by Spike and forced him to admit it, it was the greatest day of your internet life.  For me it was... Tuesday.

For the curious: Apparently, in person, I sound exactly like the Youtube Character The Nostalgia Critic.   I have no words.

I bet that was a pleasant surprise.  That’s why I rarely do KS.  Five years late?

Some good lists.  I think my top purchases this year were Alien RPG and Eclipse Phase 2nd Ed.

My most recent pickup was a hard copy of WFRP 4e that is likely to see use soon with a new group of players wanting to do non-D&D fantasy.

I got the Cyberpapacy set of Torg Eternity and promptly returned it for a refund when I discovered that US is already planning a 1.5 edition of that line. They totally killed my interest if they can't even finish the current line without getting distracted by shiny shit in other games and wanting to redo things "right this time." Fuck that, the current version was good enough, I don't want to rebuild to get something only slightly better (maybe better, maybe not).

CP Red is still pretty new on my shelf.

For that matter, I also have Tasha's Crock of Excrement for 5e that's only about a.month old and barely read (and likely to stay that way from lack of interest).

It was due July 2016, so not quite five years late.

Alrighty!!, needed to get some newer (i.e. not dog-eared, splitting, rusting, etc) old school D&D books, ...so picked these up right after Thanksgiving. They are getting kind of pricey on the open market these days...

Also want to wish everyone here a Very Merry Christmas & a Happy New Years!...

Surprisingly, for the first time in the Twenty years I have lived in the Midwest, My family figured out I really like roleplaying games, and checked by Amazon Wish List. This Christmas gift was a game I had just about picked up on my own a couple weeks back, and look forward to giving it a playtest and shakedown run! They got the game, as well as the GM's Kit, which includes a screen. I'll run a couple games of this and then put up a review here. Another Green Ronin game for my collection, hope it makes Pramas' Christmas as well!

My youngest daughter also gifted me the Watersprite Dungeons and Dragons Dice Set from https://wwwAdventurersWoodworks.com as well. While not precision dice, they are one of the most beautiful and blingy dice sets ever, and I'll happily add them to my Crown Royale dice bag. According to her, these dice are all the rage for the 5e crowd... so, ended up with something old, and something new for this Holiday Season! Sure hope 2021 goes the same way today went!

i got a fancy drawing tablet; but am not gifted with the ability to draw very well, which means i got a new time wasting habit as i try to make efficient use of it, had it for about 4 hours now, opened it, looked at it, re-boxxed and set aside. might try to play with it later.
