This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Looking forward to this. Exiled in Eris, Shatterzone, and Worlds Beyond are some of my favorite games.

I need to ask - why in P&P there is Celibacy attribute on sheet?

Looks good. Appreciate seeing a character and character sheet. Covers are nice, but character sheets can say so much about what a game is going to be about.

So true.

You might want to make a Maxim for this as a RPG general rule: ''if you want to see what a game is like quickly, look at the character sheet first. ''
Fuck the fascist right and the fascist left.

Because there are special rules for attraction, seduction, and offspring. Use them or don't use them.

Once Planets of Peril is done (and it’s close), I’ll probably be doing another Forgotten RPGs blog entry.

It's a bold strategy, Cotton, let's see if it pays off for 'em!

I'm curious enough to sink a little coinage into it.

I had a good run with Treasure Awaits, so I'm looking forward to this one. With the right people rule light can sing.

Do you mind elaborating on this, maybe in a new thread? I have had my eye on that for a bit and have not pulled the trigger. Push me over the edge.

Without going into it too much, and because I'm not much of a writer or a typist - slow as shit for one thing.:

It's been at least 7 years or more. I moved a few times during that period and cannot find my copies. At one time I had my alternate rules for rangers and paladins on the precis page. I believe skathros and I each had our own ideas for those options. Basically too many years of D&D are engrained into my mind. I watch a show and go - hey, he's a 4th level ranger before I catch myself and wonder what I'm doing. I can't help it. Fantasy characters from tv and movies get assigned class and level. I'm sure I'm not alone in doing this. So when a game lacks options to make it more like D&D I add them. I find that to be a problem in my thinking - it narrows my mind to a D&D view even when I've not played D&D for a decade. I do play a D&D game currently, but my example still stands. I'll hem and haw at times about how D&D sucks goat balls, inflating HP are queer....then my thinking has me right back into D&D mode. It's a curse. Although, I think it makes me understand Pundit when he's preaching about how your game better be OSR rules or it's for the birds. Or worse, it's a storygame. Die, swine, die!

I remember liking the game even if it took a brain shift to grasp it. It's rules light, after all. I'd recommend the pdf, and if you like it then the hardcopy. Alas, without a copy of it my brain can't recall it. I think it uses a simple d6 mechanic, but something says there's more to it than that. Too many damned games (and most of them sucked!) has rotted my brain. Now I'm 95% about setting. Maybe brettmb has a good preview file for it? He is, without a doubt, the publisher I've had zero problems with (and he even threw in swag for my order!). Him and FFG,  who sent me a replacement for a book I ordered when I got the wrong book. They even let me keep the wrong book!

My apologies for not being able to tell you a better and more detailed view of the game.

A common theme of the Sword & Planet genre is romance, so this game delves into it a bit. It's also possible for campaigns to span several generations, so determining who bonds with whom and if children are born adds a bit more flavor.

I have been reading through the PDF.

Digging it so far, I like the system - there are a reasonable amount of skills to pick from, and the “roll two dice” system is very quick to grok.

I’m inspired to do something similar to He-Man, but more “shitty 80s sword and sorcery” vibe. Probably no magic transforming sword, yes to something like Skeletor (maybe he’s a Terminator endoskeleton style robot wearing a cloak, his technology is magic to the locals, various unique henchman subordinates). T&A galore.

Maybe the Castle Grayskull equivalent has psychic powers, which are in the book.
