This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I'm always on the lookout for games or supplements that provide lots of support for GM's who struggle with prep, but still enjoy traditional games. Off the top of my head, I'm aware of: Dungeon World (Threats); any of Kevin Crawford's games, Nights Black Agents (the Conspiracy Pyramid). I'd also include something like the Chaos supplement Pundit just created. What great things are out there that would make my prep a breeze that I don't know about and don't require me to run wholly improv / shared narration games.

Spinachcat

76 Patrons for Traveller is a great adventure seed resource.

I know that GRIM / James Desborough did a couple books of adventure seeds too.

I found the 100 Sci Fi Adventure Seeds to be worth getting.

DavetheLost

Beyond the Wall takes a low prep aproach to adventure creation. The Further Afield sourcebook has a great player interactive system for building a campaign world and running it with low prep.

Cults of Chaos allows you to roll up a villain group (a cult), using a series of random tables, which you can do very quickly. In theory, you can set up a group, knowing it's size, aims, leadership, resources, and plot complications, all in about 5 minutes.

How good are they actually though. The 5e DMG tables that is.
Battle doesn\'t need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don\'t ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don\'t ask why I fight.
