This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). I've always deeply enjoyed the Necromancer Games line of adventures as they tend to focus on the kind of adventures I like: darker, evil cults, demons and devils, sword & sorcery and the like.  While WotC's adventures are trending towards that direction lately, they've been too...dragon-y for me (I may be the only Dungeon & Dragons player who doesn't particularly care for dragons) and never appealed to me all that much.  I adore Goodman Games' Dungeon Crawl Classics as well but they tend to focus on the more tounge in cheek side of D&D.  Necro does evil and grimy and does it well.

Necro games always had adequate to good production values but hopefully with Paizo we'll see a bit more "zing" to their products -- full color, handouts, better binding on hardbacks, etc.

Yay, Necromancer Games isn't dead after all.

Though I'm not sure this pairing will solve their previous problems, which seem to stem from the market not tolerating even more d20 products right now.

You might be right, but Paizo has a lot of cache in the d20 market and the downturn in Necro sales seem to have gotten the Necro folks into a more selective mindset in determining what projects to produce.  Personally I wouldn't mind seeing Necro's greatest hits get updated to 3.5 and rereleased:

- Crucible of Freya
- Tomb of Abyssthor
- Tome of Horrors I
- Gary Gygax's Necropolis

Good stuff there!

Tome of Horrors I was updated, but it was a PDF-only release.

I was going to get it printed & bound, but then I noticed it was about 450 pages.

That fantasy ended quickly. :)

Not if I have anything to say about it!
I guess I'll be playing Necromancer Games as long as I can.
