This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

But it doesn't harm his business. Those that buy his products are not less likely to buy them because some assholes are calling him a Nazi, and those that agree that he's a Nazi were never going to buy his products. There's also the large crowd that just doesn't give a shit one way or another, and here again, no harm was done.

If being called a Nazi caused him some financial harm, like his products were dropped by DTRPG or his publisher dumped him because hes being called a Nazi, that would be different.

That's upto the people suing if they have lost current business or will lose current business due to labels being tossed around.  Just cause it hasn't happened NOW doesn't mean it won't happen in the future.

Companies have sued over less.

Lawsuits are a waste of time and money.

Plenty of other cheap and creative ways to smack commie bitches.

Meme them and mock them, and when they cry, mock them for crying.

If you want to raise funds for something, raise it for a mocking campaign where every online space they occupy gets bombarded relentlessly.

Mechanical Turks are very cheap to outsource and leftists can't handle being laughed at because deep down, they know they're a joke.

TL;DR: Culturally, I'm becoming more Christian everyday when I see how society is breaking down before our eyes.  Individually, I'm a Satanist... however, I don't think the majority of human beings are capable of handling the left-hand path.

Have you gone from being an atheist then, man? I'm always interested to hear what changes someone's mind. I'm was the opposite I was actually pretty religious but then fell away from it the more I got involved with the skeptical movement.

I get the Satanist thing though, from a freedom perspective especially if you look at the Satanic Church. They are literally a bunch of people trying to do good stuff and promote freedom even though they are atheists.

But it's all good man, each to their own.

To one degree or another, I've always been religious... even when I was a Satanist.  Prominent "Satanists" these days seem to be radical-leftist atheists who want more shock value and orgies or something.

Regardless of the paradigm, there's something out there... and something within us that's special.

Damn, good call, totally forgot about that. They can always try to revise history right?

Don't suppose legal action against this person/people would be worthwhile would it?  Not sure if they have anything to sue for, but if either Venger or Pundit found out they had money/property/etc perhaps suing them to send a message would be an idea.

Sadly, they probably count on the fact they can make baseless attacks without repercussions because litigation isn't cheap.

Litigation isn't cheap. But reporting them on Itch.io is free. So go do that!

Litigation might not need to happen if the platform where these defamatory statements are being made takes issue with it and the affected people raise a stink. Sometimes the threat is all it takes.

Arent they well entrenched in leftist ideology? I suspect they fully support the wokist insanity.

Itch.io is full of leftist users. However, as far as I know it's been fairly neutral in terms of managing content. I know more cases of DTRPG banning stuff than Itch, though I may just not have been paying enough attention to the latter.

Erm, I'm not a lawyer, but aren't a least some of these statements technically defamation?

Quote
If you're the kind of person that the above statement offends, you can fuck off. If you're the kind of person that pals around with wannabe culture vulture white supremacists like RPG Pundit, wannabe satanist christian conservative transphobes like Venger Satanis, rape apologists like GrimJim, or are one of the libertarian dweebs that do free PR for the above, you can also fuck off.

And I'm not sure if the one about Venger qualifies, but it's certainly false and obviously contradictory (Satanist, but Christian?), like these people openly don't give a fuck what the truth is. They just like to declare shit into the ether. Not that this is a revelation for me, but every time I see open brazen falsehood (or "Anti-Truths", like Jordan Peterson calls them) in writing it just grinds my gears.

They spout this stuff over on BGG/RPGG now and then as well. We caught em several months ago over there saying making much the same accusations against Venger. Im surprised they havent shuttered Venger and Pundit's games behind their iron curtain already.

Interesting... That's fair enough brother.

Personally, I'm probably too cynical to belive in anything. ;)

I know several people have complained to the itch.io platform.  Has anyone heard a reply?  Just checked, and nothing has changed regarding that OSR Jam.

Nope. Complete silence, other than the confirmation email from support that they received my email.

Nope.  I think I was the first person to complain and I have yet to hear anything and their site is still up.

Maybe you should contact them as well.  Maybe that will light a fire under their feet.

I managed to negotiate some change in the text related to me, possibly I'm being naive in what I agreed to (assuming anyone would read) but I'm as happy as I'm likely to ever be with it.

All I had to do was threaten a defamation suit.

Litigation is quite costly, yes. But the legal winds seem to be shifting a bit.

Nick Sandmann managed to wring settlements out of four major media companies, after all.

I give you fifty-fifty odds, though. There's a reason defamation is a serious uphill battle in the courts.

It's disappointing that they still left most of the text the same way, and apparently itch.io is OK with this.
