Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). Oh, cool! A miniature based on Elmore’s iconic warrior! Oh…

I think it's the stance more than the outfit that makes the figure look unfeminine. The stance is what I judged most for why I interpreted the original image as a man. I think posed differently, even in the same armor/clothing, no one would have commented. Here's a similarly-dressed mini:

There have been lots of minis in women fighters in armor. Especially since there's little detail in the face possible, the two main ways to signal being a woman are (1) a prominent bust, and (2) the pose/stance.

In the spirit of arguing on the internet, that's a totally different outfit. There are way more differences than similarities.

One is a white cloth or silk tunic over a maille skirt, with buff white seal skin boots and a lapis or shell encrusted dome helmet.

The other is an oily hare-fur loincloth with some kind of hardened sooty pig-leather cuirass, accessorized with a cheap horn helmet stolen from a Wagnerian prop closet.

I see WOTC/Wizkids have learned nothing from Warhammer and their AstartesHasAlwaysHadFemales lil debacle.  The amount of beer holding is going through the roof.

It would cause less contreversey that way.

Almost certaintly! I highly doubt that this will be a best selling mini so they might as well get their money's worth through other means.

It's a "chase" rarity mini so it'll be highly sought after regardless by hardcore collectors.  Admittedly, I only follow modern D&D prepainted minis casually now but this is the first time/set I've seen Wizkids introduce the wretched "chase" rarity over from their clix lines into their D&D stuff.  It's disappointing as it pretty much means that all the figs from the D&D 80s cartoon that I'd like to have picked up will automatically be $50+ USD instead of the more typical $15+ for rares.

The artist himself has said it's a man, but of course Jhkim will argue over meaningless shit to try and score a win for the "no-truth-but-power" side.

Here is why this forum tends to be so stupid. Many people here think Joe Biden is "The Left", when he is actually Far Right and every US republican is just an idiot.

I love the thread of comments bashing Elmore and how he doesn't know it is a woman or how CNA he say that.

If I wasn't banned from there I would certainly be after I would have posted on that thread.

Clueless idiots.

Jeebus, I went and read some of it. That site really is too far left with Umbran and Morrus thinking they're right and this sex swap is fine.

I tried to be politic in my reply to Morrus as he directly quoted me.

But man, the post-modern revisionist worldview has cause so many over there to lose the plot.

The white-knight gaslighting over a ham-fisted gender swap is something to behold...

It's astounding, good sir. I shook my head throughout my read. I couldn't believe how ridiculous some of the posters were. I barely go to the site as is. Generally, it's too far left for me. Leftism is a denial of reality and it took hold there.

It's almost as bad as the big purple.

Greetings!

Yeah, Jason! I think I stepped in there, like, 10 years ago, to read, and maybe post something.

THEN, I read and watched as hordes of Woke Rainbow degenerates swarmed to attack several relatively normal members pushing back politely against the Rainbow Woke brainwashing, meanwhile Morrus and other mods stood by and did nothing, or cheered the Woke mob onwards, or actively joined in to arrogantly dress down the right-leaning people to not even think about fighting back--or else they would be swiftly punished.

I never bothered to post a thing, and have only seldom even read threads on that site since. I don't bother even really thinking about them anymore. In my brief periods of reading, I seldom saw any of my old friends still there. There is a few left, but even the small few seem to only seldom post comments themselves. So, I sadly resigned myself to avoid the site forthwith, as the place had become so corrupted by Woke brainwashing.

I haven't really missed them. This site is far superior. I do feel though that it is an unfortunate and disgusting fall from where EN-World was, back say, 2008 and before. Back then, it was a very different kind of place.

Cheers, my friend! Light up a good cigar!

And the mods have uniformly declared that complaining about "the woke agenda" is a violation of the rules and a bannable offense.

As a D&D-focused site, I expect to see them demanding allegiance to Asmodeus before the decade is out. ;)

Hi All, I'm new here.  I've had an account over at enworld for a couple of decades.

So...I've been reading the nonsense over on en(used to be good)world about this gender swap of Elmore's art.  The fascist (and I don't use that word lightly) moderation was obscene.  So I googled...

enworld is a leftist sh*thole.

And now I'm here.

Kind of off-topic, but someone started a thread on "Baptism of Fire". The post was immediately challenged because Pundit is the author. "How dare you!", etc.

The guy who created the thread pointed out that it's one of the highest selling PDFs on drivethrurpg right now, but that doesn't matter.

The thread was quickly shut down, and I expect that's why the person responded in that way. Can't have people talking about a game for itself, whether it's fun or not. Which elements work, and which ones don't, etc. The guy who wrote it gives us grumblies in our tumblies.

Something, something genetic fallacy.
