This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

NF's new rule: NEVER FIGHT in a Reverse Gravity Field! (NF's Pathfinder Meanderings)

So now with our gaming group including MORE people (one a half elf magus, a former tengu now reincarnated gnome rogue and currently a half ogre Oracle of Battle), it seemed like nothing could go wrong for us...

Yeah right. :p

So anyway we're off to see this new conspiracy group that leads the elven nation of Kyonin. Along the way we have to pass through the demon infest/haunted woods of the southern portion of the nation. It's home to a nascent Demon Lord named Treerazor. (You might have seen him in such specials as "Treerazor, how NOT to impress your boss; and "Treerazor, elves are mighty tasty!) Anyway in the process of moving around with the Oracle of Battle we were trying to be semi-quiet. Until he (the Oracle) shouts out "I'm a Half Ogre!" This immediately triggers the attention of a wandering by glabrezu. Naturally Hasini (my paladin) isn't THAT worried but concerned yes. Especially since she's barely survived in the Worldwound. That being said she was prepared to do some heavy smiting on a glabrezu that hadn't summoned anything. That was until on ITS turn, the glabrezu sent Hasini flying UP into the air thanks to me failing my Reflex save on a Reverse Gravity field. Naturally I had nothing to help me fly. But fortunately we did have our gnome wizard near by. So he too went up via Reverse Gravity (gravity travels faster than flying apparently.) but not before the glabrezu turned off the reverse gravity. So he managed thanks to some quick thinking to cast feather fall on Hasini. Hasini decided to expend two smites to grant everyone within 10 feet her smite evil feature. (+8 to attack, +24 to damage against evil outsiders, evil dragons etc.) Then said glabrezu teleported away. Naturally we were done as we had already expended a great deal of resources fighting a nearby banshee. (Banshees in Pathfinder are MUCH tougher than they sound folks.) So we rested. Along the way the new gnome was like "I haven't seen a dragon."

Anyway point is thanks to wind walk, we managed to turn the tide against the glabrezu and his bebilith minions guarding the gate to our next location, Thorn's End. Turns out though...we weren't done with random encounters. Especially considering how close to Treerazer's home we were... So Our DM rolls, gets a notice about us having a random encounter and rolls a 97. 100 would have been Treerazor. Instead we got a mature adult Green Dragon....

needlessly to say we have forbidden the new gnome from speaking again. :P :)

Someone must have SOMETHING to add....

Or do I need to ask another question to get this going...

Like "Do I need a new bow if all I do is melee?" (Said bow is a composite longbow +2 dragon bane)

Wouldn't there be less traffic near tree razor? I can't see a demon and a dragon sharing territory.

Nightfall

Eh apparently not. I didn't write the random encounters. I just suffer the effects. :p :)
