Eika are savage tribes men that dwell in far northern lands away from other cultures. They are a violent and martial culture that take pleasure in raiding weaker races

Eika are tall and muscular most Eika are over 6 feet tall and weigh over 200 pounds. Bony growths sprout from the backs of their hands along their knuckles. Most Eika sharpen these into claws. Their skin is covered in metallic scales that range between a burnished bronze to a silvery sheen. Eika eye colour is usually a jem bright blue green. The males have bone white hair while the females have long locks of metallic coloured hair. This hair can be woven into exceptionally strong threads. Eika leaders are always clad in mail shirts and girdles woven of these threads. This armour is the equivalent of masterwork chain.

Eika speak their own language as well as common.

Young Eika are hatched from eggs. Every Eika tribe has an old mother that births all of the tribes young along with the chieftain. The eggs are left to incubate in a birthing pool. Once layed within the pool the eggs are left untouched until they hatch. Once hatched the many young are left to fight amongst themselves. Many are killed and consumed by their brothers and sisters. Those that feast on the weaker are destined to take on a humanoid form. Those that simply survive become a hound like creature with nothing more than animal intelligence.

These 'hounds' resemble their Eika brother in colouring only.  In all other respects they look like a terrifying cross between dog and reptile. Eika hounds are nearly 6 feet long and stand over 3 feet at the shoulder. They weigh around 250-300 pounds. Eika hounds generally obey the commands of Eika from their litter unless they sense weakness.

Combat

Trip (Ex): An eika hound that hits with a bite attack can attempt to trip the opponent (+1 check modifier) as a free action without making a touch attack or provoking an attack of opportunity. If the attempt fails, the opponent cannot react to trip the hound.

Skills: *Eika hounds have a +4 racial bonus on Survival checks when tracking by scent.

Mother bitches! First, no one reads the damn books when I recomend them. Then none of you fuckers even comment when I try to stat up some of the shit from the book for D&D.

Fucking christ! It's not like I'm doing shit up for those crappy Malazan books or something. Fuck y'all!

.... or bump...

Very interesting race.

I have a bit of a problem with the weaker form having more hit dice, though.  I know it's most likely an artifact of how humanoids are constructed in 3e, but it's still rather jarring.

Stats look fine, though.  That's one of the few LA +2 races I've seen that deserve the +2 -- most of 'em are way too fucking weak for such a harsh penalty.

Wow! A comment! Wait... it's Cyberzombie...

/checks for his kidneys.

Okay, we're good.

Yeah, I thought about increasing the hit dice but honestly, it's just easier to make them stronger by adding class levels. And anyway, even the stongest hound at 6HD is only going to be CR 4-5.

My New Year's resolution was to stop stabbing people in the kidneys.  :)

I suppose you're right about the hounds, but it just seems so *weird* with the sample warrior.  An artifact of D&D rules, though.
