This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Does anyone know if someone has created a netbook, PDF, or document which complies all the PC and NPC classes and races that have been published over the years in Dragon Magazine?  Could you please provide a link?

I'm mainly interested in the old school Dragon classes and races like the Anti-Paladin, the Plethora of Paladins classes, the Half-Ogre, the Dryad, etc.

Thank you.

Is there a non-d20 D&D section on that page?

I don't have time to look through them at work, but the following pages have class and race netbooks available:

http://www.acc.umu.se/~stradh/dnd/mirror/Ezra/books/olear/ADnD/NetBooks.html

http://www.fortunecity.com/victorian/byzantium/55/classes.htm

This page has a bunch of links...again, no time to test them to see how many are working:

Thanks for the responses guys!

KenHR, you should definitely check the 1st and 3rd links you posted when you get home.  There's some great information.

Yeah, actually, I look forward to browsing all those sites when I get the time.  I remember using a lot of that stuff when I got back into RPGs about 10 years back.  There were some incredibly cool ideas in those netbooks.

The is a Great Net Handbook of Classes & Kits that includes some of the NPC classes from Dragon, but like most netbooks the quality ranges from Anti-Paladin to Jedi Knight.

A better option would be to look for the Best of Dragon Vols I-V. The majority of the NPC classes are reprinted there, minus a couple of the later ones like the Death Master & Chronomancer.

White Dwarf also had some really inspired NPC classes like the Demonologist, Necromancer, Elementalist and my favorite, the Houri. :D

Oh, hey Ken...the Bevis Frond is da bomb!

You can also come up with something that is not only original and creative and artistic, but also maybe even decent, or moral if I can use words like that, or something that\'s like basically good -Lester Bangs

Oh yeah, I remember reading the Houri class in WD.  Good stuff.

Woohoo!  Another fan. :)

I lost a bunch of Bevis CDs in my move...all I have left is North Circular and Son of Walter.  Need to repair that hole in my collection ASAP.

Have you heard Mary Lou Lord's covers of any of Nick's tunes?  They're really (surprisingly) good; he played lead on her first album, which featured "Lights Are Changing" and "he Had You."

The Death Master is in Volume IV actually.

I'm no expert. I just know this because I've been looking at the half-ogre, thinking of converting it to a class for Moldvay/Cook, and Roger Moore's version of that race is in the same issue.

I've also been thinking about adapting the Death Master and creating a death coven in the hinterlands of that campaign.
Don\'t forget rule no. 2, noobs. Seriously, just don\'t post there. Those guys are nuts.

Speak your mind here without fear! They\'ll just lock the thread anyway.

One of my fondest 1st edition memories is of playing one half of a pair of half-ogre twins.  I used an oak door as a weapon.

Kellri has it right about some of the spellcasting classes that appeared in the pages of White Dwarf magazine.  There was a decidedly darker and more complex take on AD&D as seen through that mag.  The Elementalist was one of my personal faves.

hehe...your post about the half-ogre class on Stormy's forum got me thinking about my old half-ogre character, and all those cool classes and races that were published in Dragon magazine (back in the TSR days).  That's what promoted me to create this thread.  I got rid of my Dragon magazine collection years ago (I moved a lot, and it was pain to move around), and now I would like re-read all those classes and races.
