SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: kosmos1214;912284Ah sounds like you are over simplifying while yes they both use science and knowledge to make some thing so dose paper and gasoline but that dosnt necessarily mean the working process are even remotely related.

Fair enough. I stand corrected again.

Eating the monsters was more of a thing for us in Metamorphosis Alpha and Gamma World. Lots of critters in those games could be eaten or boiled down or otherwise processed to yield poison and radiation cures, attribute bonuses, healing, and all sorts of other benefits. Of course some of them were also toxic or radioactive, so it was not a popular job to be the taster.

In my old FtA!GN! sourcebook I had made a huge list of monsters and what effects they might cause if eaten.  But it's only been occasionally in my campaigns that gamers have resorted to eating monsters.

Except in DCC. I've had to crack open the old FtA!GN! book again, just because of how often my PCs decide they're going to eat whoever they just killed.
Especially the halfling PCs, of course, since in my DCC world they're vicious cannibals.
