This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Modular dungeon maps

Due to the thread about dungeons here and the fact that the players in my current Drow campaign want to send a secondary group of characters on a "research" mission, I'm in need of a rather huge dungeon, or at least a section thereof that looks like you could go on for miles. I'm not sure whether I have the time to draw one up all by myself, so some re-usable maps from other adventures/dungeons would be rather useful.

Does anyone know of good "mega-dungeon" maps that can be used out of context? Just the maps, I'm pretty decent at making up encounters/NPCs.

Well, you can still get the old AD&D 1st Geomorphs if you know where to look for them. I think I got a set at RPGnow a while back just for old times sake. I'm much more into dsigning my own maps, though.

If you want traditional type dungeons (linear hallways, square rooms, etc.) compared to caverns, this site is great:

Well, I don't think that random dungeons will suffice. This is meant to be an ancient enclave, and exactly because it has to look like something designed (and designed well) it would be a lot of work for me, work I'd like to avoid. Coming up with something equal to a random dungeon wouldn't really be a big effort...

In that case, what you need is a pad of graph paper, some pencils, and an eraser.

:woop:

c'mon, it's not that much work!

If you want "designed well" then you will have to do it yourself :p

For miles and miles of dungeon you could try Undermountain or Undermountain II.

For smaller dungeons that look like they might have had an actual purpose you could take a look at Hellgate Keep or Madgoth's castle (an undermountain expansion)

These are all 2E AD&D Forgotten Realms and may be available on the wizards site or RPGnow.

I've had great success with Dundjinni. It's been worth every dollar I paid for it.
