This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

My most recent purchase and I'm pretty damn happy.  ;D

I know we already had classic marvel forever but to have everything in a digital tome is bliss (for me).

I'm really delighted that you like it. I had to make the decision to cut it down after sending out the draft for review, or it would have ended up being 500 pages or thereabouts, and it reaches the point of - including all the missing things like teams, resources / Wealth rules and so on, and then just trying to stop. All the extra stuff like a full character roster and a character roster for authorized licensed characters from Tidal Wave Productions are on the website at www.faserip.com anyway.

I've tried to add as many sites as possible on the Contacts page too, and it's wonderful to see how many there are.

If you would, please leave a review on DriveThruRPG as well that always helps a product. Only if it's no trouble :)

No worries... I did already give it 5 stars on DT, but I will leave a short written review asap. Off all the Marvel stuff I have this is by far my favorite and easily the most comprehensive. Cheap at the price IMO too!  :)

My last purchase was "Random Esoteric Creature Generator for Classic Fantasy Role-Playing Games and their Modern Simulacra". It is a monster generator and I found it really cool and easy to use. It is made for LotFP but it it works in a pretty generalized way. I particularly like how it has descriptive text blocks in the generators so it gives you some ideas on the look and visual function of the various things you randomly assemble.

So that was the last book I actually have in my possession.. but

Dragonbane by Free League (currently a kicker / late pledge thing) was my last actual payment purchase thing. I have not played it of course, but I expect it will be a smashing product.

Thank you so much! It just never made sense to me to pace out information on this retroclone in multiple books because all the questions come up when you generate your character, and by the end of the first session all the teams, vehicles, weapons, goods and services and even animals and creatures have probably popped up too.

I also wanted to slay the "renamed labels" dragon. Some people like to have a rulebook that "gives them permission" so as you have seen I made sure to say Resources = Wealth and whatever the renaming of things, look underneath and it's the same. Talents / Specialities / Skills / Areas of Knowledge is another one. :)

Faseripopedia looks like a new version of the first retroclone I linked to, FASERIP, by Blacky the Blackball.  It is the exact same power table and uses the same power rank names.

You seem to have a real bee in your bonnet about this. To respond to you once again,

From www.faserip.com:

"FASERIP RPG

This site is a labor of love inspired by FASERIP RPG by Blacky the Blackball. This site, its main author and its contributors are not in any way associated with Bucky or his FASERIP RPG. His RPG is used because it is released under the OGL and that is the easiest platform from which to continue the great legacy of the original 1980s superhero game which started it all! FASERIP by Bucky the Blackball is a "neo-clone" as he calls it but really an edited retroclone of an original long out of print but never forgotten 1980s superhero game.

We have now put together what we believe is a pretty all encompassing version of the true retroclone rules for FASERIP together with a lot of options and additions: FASERIPopedia FASERIP Rules Cyclopedia."

FASERIP RPG was released under the OGC, parts of it were used pursuant to that, but the entire aim is different. Back to the original moreso than "FASERIP RPG."

I don't think it warrants further "discussion."

The same OGC ability rank names and numerical chart is used, but in the actual book it is a rewrite of the same source Bucky the Blackball rewrote, plus of course hundreds of pages of extra content. Where there was any deviation from the original work being cloned, we reverted to the original before making additions or offering options.

Huh? I seem to have a real "been in my bonnet" about this? Um, no.  I have never heard of your product before this thread and was simply trying to figure out who was behind it and what was different about it compared to the other FASERIP retroclones I already own and am already familiar with.  Considering you use the exact same power ranks table as the FASERIP retroclone by Blacky the Blackball, I assumed your product might be a new/improved version of his FASERIP retroclone.  I was simply speculating and trying to figure out because I'd never heard or seen anything about your product before.  I tried to contact you through your website for the product but the link to contact you is broken.  I had to manually find a way to send you an email, so at the time I was still thinking you might be Blacky the Blackball or associated with him.  Specifically, I was trying to discern if this is like a new version of his product he had done before or a totally new one independent of what he had done prior.  I was working when I first stumbled upon this stuff and this is likely why I missed what you had on your webpage about this question.

The fantastic Astonishing Superheroes game I mentioned above is one where I've had a lot of interactions with the dev.  Not only is it a fantastic product, but the dev has been nothing but nice and welcoming to me.

Bucky?

Pretty sure it's Blacky.

I have them both. Both are good products!

But this latest one is fantastic and my current favorite because it has everything in the one place with quite a few options that I've not seen before. So it's like having a huge Marvel tool kit in one large tome. :)

So Aunt May could hit Captain America with her frying pan if she rolls over a 66. Period. Now there are *ways* for Cap to make this impossible. But he shouldn't *have* to. He's fucking Captain America. He's a peak human for Fighting (50!).

In all fairness to Cap, he'd probably let Aunt May hit him with a frying pan because he probably deserved it. Also, doesn't Cap have the highest Fighting in the game outside of Hercules and Thor?

IIRC, Black Panther, Cap, and Punisher have Amazing. Maybe Iron Fist? It's been a while.

Yeah I checked my roster books and you are correct. Iron Fist is Incredible, though. But he can increase it to Amazing with his Chi FEAT for 10 rounds, which is pretty good.

In all seriousness, I think Cap should actually have been bumped up to Monstrous because he's literally unbeatable and I'm also the biggest Cap fanboy ever.
It takes considerable knowledge just to realize the extent of your own ignorance.

Cap is the best, no doubt.

Karnak has AMA! I did not know that.

Cap should be at the pinnacle of fighting ability.  I've been a massive Cap fan since I was a a child.

If you factor in all of Cap's Martial Arts Talents - he's running Monstrous MOST of the time. And God forbid you dare forget that he's rocking Weapon Specialist with that shield. If you extrapolate multiple attack rules - he's basically bouncing that shield off your head 4-time per round... and he can do INC(40) Blunt or Edged... with a Class 3000 Weapon...
