This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Ran a game for the first time this weekend (had the game on the shelf for 5 or so years, so it was nice to try it out).   It was alot of fun.  Had a bit of a DCC feel with the random character generation (characters can vary tremendously in competence at level 1) and I ran a fairly simple adventure once we had characters and a grasp on rules.  I see some holes in the game as it is, but I had fun, and my players really seemed to enjoy it (though who knows, after being isolated, maybe they would have gotten a blast out of Monopoly).   Any one here play it, either short or long term?

I own several of the books. I bought them for their awesome maps (especially the Pitford and Crossroads Region books), and while the flavor text can be quite amusing at times, the rules system doesn't appeal to me at all. That means I'll likely use them with Savage Worlds, either as my own conversion of ME or with Deadlands: Hell on Earth or Rifts.

The rules played a lot better for us than they read.  Reading them...I was always in the take a pass zone.  Playing though did change my mind a bit.

For flavor I actually like Darwins World more than mutant epoch, and I had the D20 version I used for inspiration, but later got the Savage Worlds version as well as I like SW a whole lot better than Modern 20.

That's exactly how I feel. I would really have liked it to have been 5e based. The art, presentation of the world, etc are fantastic, but I just don't like the system.
