After Ten Bones mentioned The Primal Order they other day, it made me wonder if there were any OSR / d20 compatible heroes to gods rules out there. Can anyone recommend one?

D&D (Basic Rules) had two products Immortals and Wrath of the Immortals that handled the players ascending to godhood.

The Rules Cyclopedia incorporated a few of the ascension rules from Immortals but didn't include the rest of it.

Dark Dungeons has some rules for becoming a deity as I recall. It's a retroclone of the Rules Cyclopedia.

Godbound has rules for taking heroic mortals to demigods.

Yes, I was reading through that thread and was wondering what else was out there. Is that actually OSR / d20 based?

Thanks, yes, I have the Rules Cyclopedia, though I don't have Immortals and Wrath of the Immortals. I thought maybe this was something others had tackled as well.

It is definitely d20-based, and it's OSR as I define it:).

Then again, so many people seem to have their own definitions about what is and what isn't OSR that I'm not sure whether there is even one single game that fits all the definitions out there. Probably not, so the question is, why don't you download the free-for-everyone beta and see for yourself;)?

Yes to both. The beta is freely available, so you can review it for yourself. Backers also have early access to heroic mortal rules that include how to deal with ascension to demigod-hood.

I add my voice to Godbound. You could start with Heroic Mortals (your typical D&D character, then become a Godbound later in the game as you receive a divine spark).
If you like to talk about roleplaying games, check Daystar Chronicles, my tabletop RPG blog, for reviews and homebrew.
