This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I've got a list of 100 celebrities who *could be* or are verified D&D gamers on my blog. Here's the idea...you can choose 5 people to join you in a one-month reality show. You'll be trapped in a house, constantly surveilled, and expected to play 12-hours-a-day 1st edition AD&D. One of you will be the DM (your choice). One fighter, one thief, one magic user and 2 whatevers. The house is fully stocked with necessary supplies including food, drink, OOP TSR products, and a luxury hot-tub for the evening afterglow. If you can't decide, just roll a %d and do it the old-school way.

So, ladies and & gentlemen, please drop by my blog and let's see your rosters!!!

No Google/Blogger account, so I'll post it here:

1. Alice Cooper - Magic-User
2. Jack Black - Dashing Rogue
3. Eddie Izzard - Paladin
4. Vin Diesel - Fighter
5. Jenny McCarthy - Eye Candy... I mean Thief/Spy
6. Robin Williams - GM

I would DM.  The players would be:

David Boreanaz as the Laidback NG Fighter/Party Leader
Matthew Lillard as the Slightly Deranged CG Rogue
Lexa Doig as the Uptight LG Cleric
David Duchovny as the Sinister TN Wizard with a Secret Agenda
Eddie Izzard or Jenny McCarthy as the Comic-Relief NG Bard

Alternately, I would like to play in a game run by Joss Whedon featuring Seth Green, Troy Parker, Jack Black, Jim Bruer and Rivers Cuomo as the other players.  We'd get really stoned, and it wouldn't matter who was playing what.  Though I call fighter.

Egad!

12 hours a day of 1st Edition D&D?!

That's TORTURE!  You're evil!  Holy crap!  That's the most evil and vile thing I can possibly imagine!

Gaaaaaah!

No...I didn't say you'd be stuck in a house gladhanding with Ed Greenwood.

Is Gary Gygax listed as #42 by co-incidence?  Hmmm?  I think not.

I didn't catch that. And if it was an accident I'm starting the Gygaxian religion. It's a sign.

Nice list...how confirmed are some of those?

Anyway...

Dream group from that list.  Picks 1, 2 and 5 are just geek out picks.  Diesel is purely my respecting his wearing of his geek credentials on his sleeve.  Graham is just because of the hot chick quota.

1. Stephen King - DM
2. David Boreanaz - Repentant fighter.
3. Vin Diesel - Combat ready rogue.
4. Lauren Graham - Hot enchantress wizard...'cause she's kinda hot.
5. RA Salvatore - two-weapon Drow fighter if he likes.

As for me, I'll play a ranger or something.

I was torn on the DM: King or Whedon.  With Whedon, my love interest is going to die, but with King, I know everybody is going to die.

Although King, the two Mansons and Alice Cooper would be an interesting start to the game, as long as everyone shows up "in gimmick".

It's a shame Werner Herzog and Klaus Kinski aren't on the list. Oh wait....even Robert Downey Jr....

Fuck 1e with a spoon, but some of those guys would be AWESOME for a Dark Heresy game.

I mean, Vin Diesel alone pretty much already has the 40k feel down pat so long as he can keep the Mary Sues out of it.
