Greetings!
Nice video Pundit! I enjoyed how you provide some discussion and details of your Pundit Presents issue.
In my campaign world of Thandor, tobacco shops, pipes, tobacco, and cigars are popular and widely embraced amongst civilized lands. Wizards are, of course, great fans and patrons of smoking, especially pipes. Enchanted pipes and enchanted pipe tobaccos are definitely an enjoyable and intriguing feature.

Since tobacco wasn't present in medieval time, was there anything else being smoked? What about outside Europe; Turkey, Arabia, India, etc?

Opium, cannabis, and various other herbs, including in some parts of Europe. But none with the mass commonplace-adoption that Tobacco eventually had.

I can understand opium (from the far east trade), but where did cannabis spring up?
Opium poppy is from Asia Minor and Middle East - it's range and Cannabis range are not dissimilar (though Cannabis reach further East).
Poppy was used also to prepare desserts - poppy deserts are traditional in Polish Christmas cuisine, cannabis was used to make cords or ropes.
Nowadays opium poppy main producers are Turkey, Czech and Spain. Cannabis was also cultivated in Europe.

Cannabis was being used in India for AT LEAST 2500 years back (probably a lot more) in both smoking and in drinks. Like opium, it was trades on the silk road.

Huh. Learn something new every day :)
There was an article about magic item pipes in one of the first Dragon issues...interesting to see it come back like this.
Nice way to add source-accurate flavor to your halflings!
