Can you help me just a tad with the current system, please? I am having trouble understanding something. I'm reading the Customized Character Creation Design on pg 47. It says each attribute begins at 1 and it costs the CURRENT RANK x 10 to increase. This confuses me because the example text it gives for Susan seems like the math is off. She originally wanted to increase Presence and Agility to Rank 4 each and the example says she would only have 40 pts to spend on the rest of her stats out of 160 total pts. Wouldn't it cost 30 pts each to increase Presence and Agility to 4 apiece if you automatically start at 1 and the cost is Current Rank x 10?
In the example on page 48, Jacqueline wants to increase her Presence from 1 to 4 and needs to spend 60 points to do so. This checks out with the formula of (Current x 10), because you have to pay for each rank:
Presence 1--> Presence 2 = 10 pts
Presence 2 --> Presence 3 = 20 pts
Presence 3 --> Presence 4 = 30 pts
Hence, Presence 1 --> Presence 4 = 10+20+30 = 60 pts
