Hard to tell if this is an earnest opener to a dialogue about finding tables for niche interests within the hobby, or just using that as a cloak for the real intent which is to whine about why other people don't like what the OP likes.
If it's the former, I'd say that things are better than they've ever been and are only going to continue to get better, if you're someone like me who is sociable and charismatic in person, and a competent GM and willing to do the legwork to put a group together, I can get a physical game going for any system that I take an interest in at relatively short notice, assuming an absence of global pandemics. If you're waiting for some kind of internet sky mommy to herd shiny new friends into your basement to play with you because you don't like going outside or speaking to people, then you're going to struggle with face to face gaming irrespective of how much or little shared interest is out there.
If it's the latter, cool, nobody cares what you like, and nobody cares that nobody cares. Promote games you like by being someone people want to play with, that's the meta game and in that meta game the OP indicates you're a noob, bitching about balance in a game system you poorly understand.
