You can play online at Roll20.net - the weirdo quotient is fairly low. I recall there's a Furry (non-pervert) game called Ironclaw https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ironclaw but it's not a much played game. Still you can easily play a Tabaxi (cat person) in a Roll20 5e D&D campaign.

I wouldnt suggest Ironclaw. Its system of dice pools and overall rules are not new-user friendly.

Hi and welcome to the boards!  My daughter enjoys the same things you do (minus the actually being a furry part), but she and her friends mostly freeform roleplay them.  Basically, they each say what they're doing and and if there are disagreements about how something resolves they discuss them until they do agree.

They're playing pretend.  You have to be careful though, once mechanics get into the mix, that could easily turn into Storygaming or even worse, LARPing.  :D

and Soap,

Now there's one from wayback.

Fun fact: It was developed on rpg.net, and I have a minor credit.

I did try other places like Reddit and Discord but it all felt like they were just RPGnet run offs, the same mentality and the same kind of people.

Not yet, but they're rapidly getting there.

I often feel like an outsider when it comes to rpgs because of three things, I love animation, not just anime but Disney (both movie and tv), Warner Brothers, Fletcher, Chuck Jones, Fritz, Hanna Barbara, and so much more, and I have this habit of wanting to play something like them, to ignore "realism" for something cool, something powerful and dynamic which flows into issue two, I'm a furry, I would love to play a furry race when I can, and no I do not want to hump everything in game or out, I just want to have fun, thing three is I don't like typical high fantasy settings.

Plenty of RPG gamers have similar interests, they're just victims of gatekeeping like you are.

I was banned from RPGnet because I was looking for tips to run a Lion King game session, as in the first two animated movies, no sex, no gore, just a silly adventure within a Disney Property. What I got instead? How can we make this realistic and dark? They ignored what I wanted and started in with magic that made animals talk, and how breeding would happen, and a very brutal system, and when I chimed in to remind them I just wanted a sweet and simple system to run it, I could live without explaining anything. That caused a nasty back and forth before I was banned for call them a bunch of banana brained fuck farts, actually I don't remember what I called them because this was a long time ago but I think is close.

Exactly how long ago was this? Because I couldn't find anything, and the current culture there would never have allowed this to happen.

Didn't sound legit either, to be honest, unless it was years ago.  Plus, the group that would have allowed that wouldn't have handed out a permaban for banana-brained fuck farts.  I'm getting a "fishing for quotes" vibe.

You could get banned for almost anything on that site.

Or for the opposite of everything. Being banned on RPG.net is not even more the badge of honor that it once was.

Personally I like old Disney movies. I wouldn't mind playing a game in the Pinocchio world, set in an old Italian-style fairytale town

The just released "Luca" by Pixar will give you a lot of ideas. One of the inspirations, BTW, are Myiazaki classic movies. It is not by chance that the small town on the Riviera is named "Portorosso"  :D

To the OP: you could also consider the various My Little Pony RPGs. There is an official one and some home made (including one based on Pathfinder). Even if you are not interested in MLP, the various rulesets can be of inspiration for other settings involving talking animals.
For every idiot who denounces Ayn Rand as "intellectualism" there is an excellent DM who creates a "Bioshock" adventure.

So a furry showed up and the people talked/suggested some games and didn't attack him?

Oh fuck...there goes theRPGsite's reputation!  ;D

Welcome aboard you furry anime weirdo!

You'll never get banned from here for calling anybody a bunch of banana brained fuck farts which is pure awesome.

So you're looking for a light, non-violent RPG experience.

You should look at a game called TOON. It was specifically for playing cartoons, like Bugs Bunny and Roadrunner. Zany, exploding carrots, etc. It was very fun and popular back in the day.

It would be challenging to find a group interested in playing Lion King almost anywhere...except at a regional or national convention OR online. If going for an online crowd, you probably should go directly to Furry RPG forums because they're your direct apples-to-fursuits fandom for what you want to play.

As for getting banned on RPG.net, consider it a badge of honor.

As for sexuality (of any sort) at the game table, there's a exploding can of worms. Everything regarding that topic depends entirely on your table of players. What is cool at one table causes a Twatter crisis at another table.

My best advice? Know your players by talking about stuff upfront. As the GM, you can always say "here's what is (and is not) happening in my games" so players know what to expect before joining the game.

I had no idea what a furry was until I started playing Werewolf: The Apocalypse back in the day (late 90's I believe). I asked a friend of mine, "why is it all the other fans of this game are kinda weird and make me feel really uncomfortable?". Back then you met these folks in person rather than online...the internet was only just beginning to really take off. He was the one who explained the furry subculture to me and said that Werewolf, being basically "furry Power Rangers" was a game that attracted that kind of crowd. We went back to playing D6 Star Wars instead.
The more clichéd my group plays their characters, the better. I don't want Deep Drama™ and Real Acting™ in the precious few hours away from my family and job. I want cheap thrills, constant action, involved-but-not-super-complex plots, and cheesy but lovable characters.

I got you covered. This is set in "not-Switzerland", rather than Italy, but still has a bit of that fairy-tale town vibe. You could do Pinocchio here, as well as more conventional adventures.

That is one toaster pastry you can keep to yourself.

Furry Power Rangers!!! Love that! I don't remember meeting any weird Werewolf players back then...or maybe they just seemed normal in comparison to the Vampire players.

Actually Werewolf was relatively obscure in the furry fandom circles.
Albedo and later Dragon Storm were the most popular due to Steve and Susan respectively promoting their games all over and being pretty friendly to the furry fans as both were more or less outsiders. Indie comics for Steve and CCG-RPG for Susan.
