This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Another classic from Existential Comics: "The Interdisciplinary Disaster".

I especially liked the description of Georg Cantor: "He solved the problem of what happens when you do infinite damage to a monster with infinite hit points. It dies."
RPG Blog: Akratic Wizardry (covering Cthulhu Mythos RPGs, TSR/OSR D&D, Mythras (RuneQuest 6), Crypts & Things, etc., as well as fantasy fiction, films, and the like).

David Hilbert might beg to differ. ;)

This is probably the best D&D&P comic ever because it maps to an all too real clash of play styles that I have actually experienced more than once. Brilliant.

I'll see your countably infinite damage points and raise you my uncountably infinite damage resistance.

Never seen that comic before, but that one was clever on two levels. So doubly good.

Agreed.  Epic instance of a good comic.
Even the the "cutting edge" storygamers for all their talk of narrative, plot, and drama are fucking obsessed with the god damned rules they use. - Estar

Yes, Sean Connery\'s thumb does indeed do megadamage. - Spinachcat

Isuldur is a badass because he stopped Sauron with a broken sword, but Iluvatar is the badass because he stopped Sauron with a hobbit. -Malleus Arianorum

"Tangency Edition" D&D would have no classes or races, but 17 genders to choose from. -TristramEvans

Werekoala

Already emailed it to my gaming group and said they can put our names to the characters in the comic on their own....

I have been known to react like Dostoyevsky in panel 8.

Must be a 4e game...

Shakespeare and Dostoyevsky's normal World of Darkness games must have been canceled for them to be playing D&D. Shakespeare is definitely a Vampire player, but I cant tell if Dostoyevsky normally plays Mage or Werewolf...
Quote from: ExploderwizardStarting out as fully formed awesome and riding the awesome train across a flat plane to awesome town just doesn\'t feel like D&D. :)

You clearly haven't studied much Shakespeare.  Have you even heard of the historical plays? The largest single collection of works Shakespeare did? The one where he meticulously details the end of the 100 Years War and the entire War of the Roses as a spectacularly violent and machiavellian soap opera?

Shakespeare was George RR Martin before there was a George RR Martin. He did the ORIGINAL "Game of Thrones", complete with a dragon-themed character showing up at the end to take the throne after having spent most of the storyline on another continent.

Not only should Shakespeare be playing D&D, it would be old-school with a heavy setting-flavor focus, he'd be the dungeon master, and he'd be running the Dark Albion setting.

Oh, he started with D&D in the 70s, and continued through the 80s...

Quote from: The Butcher;787410And you clearly haven't played much WoD.

But as soon as the 90s hit, he found the Storyteller system and never really looked back.
