This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

"I am an angry GM"

Nah.  I work pretty hard to be a good GM and to improve where I need to, and I also seem to be blessed usually with good-to-excellent players (at the very least, very few gen-yoo-wine buttholes).  Not a lot of GM anger here.

James McMurray

Quote from: flyingmiceMr. Spelling Nazi is confused:

The word I highlighted was "whining," as in "2. to snivel or complain in a peevish, self-pitying way: He is always whining about his problems," or perhaps "2. To complain or protest in a childish fashion." I don't understand where it is I was supposed to have been confused.

And yes, I was thinking of "whinging" when I wrote that, but not as a word. My post was meant as a silly joke about whinging not being a real word (because I'm American), and hence a misspelling. But the word I said was spelled correctly was indeed spelled correctly, as you so kindly pointed out.

You seem to have missed that he mispelled 'their' in the same sentence, however....

Quote from: Serious PaulAnd had he any understanding of anything like that I'd have entertained his request seriously. I always say as long as you can justify it logically (With in the realm of the game) then go for it.

If your character has a logical reason to start with a nuclear hand grenade then cool.

If not then why ask for it?

Which leads to another topic, most people don't know how to explain things. We most often find them published in computer manuals and RPG rules. :D

The ranter sounds like a cunt. He needs to get over his passive aggressive whining bullshit and just start killing characters.

He´s too weak to be a GM, let alone a DM.

I'm a happy GM. I play with the people I want, the games I like, and they let me know what they want so we can get our fun. Sometimes, they get me Guinness.
My name is Ramón Nogueras. Running now Vampire: the Masquerade (Giovanni Chronicles IV for just 3 players), and itching to resume my Call of Cthulhu campaign (The Sense of the Sleight-of-Hand Man).

James McMurray

I'd have to engineer a TPK if they brought me Guinness.

Quote from: The angry GMI am lousy after years and years of Laboring for weeks over a campaign only to have everyone show up and read comic books while I try to describe the setting.

My inner player voice is saying "Hey, dillweed, I wouldn't bring the comics if I wasn't expecting you to try to bore me to death with endless setting detail."
