This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

All on my laptop, hidden in the car....

I save my Mongoose Traveller book. It should be easy to guilt my players into playing a campaign of it considering I lost everything else, hehe.

Alternately, I burn with it all; cackling and screaming. Then I start looking for gamers in hell.

For me, it'd probably be my Amber book.  Its probably not the most irreplaceable book in my collection, but sentimental reasons would demand it.  Also, its a first printing.

I would grab by external hard drive. I love my books. But they could all be replaced eventually. With my hard drive I could access a whole lot of content immediately.

Now, losing my RPG collection would break my heart. I've lived through an apartment fire. The only things I grabbed on the way out were shoes and my phone. Luckily I didn't lose my life, my cats nor my library.

GameDaddy

Hypothetically speaking, If I have enough time to grab one book, I have enough time to grab an armload off my shelf soooo...

My Classic Traveller and D&D White Booksets get saved, +1 for boxed sets, as well as the Castles & Crusades hardbacks, Fudge, Metamorphosis Alpha, Gamma World, Spycraft, Aces and Eights, and anything else that conveniently gets in the way...

My entire collection is insured anyway, and the minis are probably worth far more than the books.
Blackmoor grew from a single Castle to include, first, several adjacent Castles (with the forces of Evil lying just off the edge of the world to an entire Northern Province of the Castle and Crusade Society's Great Kingdom.

Quote from: HombreLoboDomesticado;431198This is a tough one. With little time to make a decision I'd probably grab my Call of Cthulhu corebook.

I could easily replace my Cthulhu corebook as well, and this is therefore not exactly the most rational choice, but I assume I'd be in a hurry and didn't give it any thought in advance. Sentimental reasons would prevail.

Yeah, well, that's obvious.

But frankly, I would never pick an "external hard drive" as the thing to save over a book. I don't care that the harddrive has 300 pirated PDF files of all the greatest RPGs ever written, they're still not books.

Agreed, though people posting that should learn to read: the question was about picking ONE RPG BOOK, not hard drives, CD-roms or even several books. ;)

I would probably grab my Grenadier copy of Swordbearer. For such a tiny box it holds a huge amount of gaming potential.

The other option is I bring the extra large bag of Cheetos to hell with me, since there's a game starting up.

The rest can burn.

And only because AH RQ is more than one book, so answering in the spirit of the question, I'd go CoC too.

Answering honestly, an USB pendrive with all my collection in PDF.
My name is Ramón Nogueras. Running now Vampire: the Masquerade (Giovanni Chronicles IV for just 3 players), and itching to resume my Call of Cthulhu campaign (The Sense of the Sleight-of-Hand Man).

Well if we have to stick to a book, I'd take Starblazer Adventures, I reckon.

Is this meant to determine which game I value most?  Or does it merely determine which game I consider to be the hardest to replace/have highest monetary value?  'Cause I'm thinking a lot of peoples favorite games are probably easy to replace, while some very valuable (relatively) games are unplayable pieces of crap.
Yes, it\'s a typo; it\'s not worth re-registering over . . .
