SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Your house/living place is on fire, and you can escape but take with you only ONE RPG book from your collection.
What would it be?

Nobilis 2e, obviously. The rest of what I own could be replaced far more easily.
Previously known by the name of "GrimGent".

Abyssal Maw

The Pathfinder Corebook.

.. hollowed out. Inside I have my 4e Collection on microfilm.
Download Secret Santicore! (10MB). I painted the cover :)

Only an RPG geek would even think this way :D

My answer: 2e Dragonquest book (although my Stormbringer 2e boxed set would be a close second and would console me if the DQ book was out of reach). Everything else I own would be much easier to find and replace, and besides if I started even trying to think about what other game book I'd grab I'd get stricken with indecision and would let 'em all burn.

None.

Saving "stuff" is not worthwhile in a house fire.  "Stuff" can be replaced.

Lost lives cannot be replaced.

With that being said, I would keep precious documents (or copies) in a bank safety deposit box (ie. insurance, deeds, etc ...).

Starblazer Adventures as its closest to me atm, also a usb drive full of .pdf's of other rpg's since im sat at my pc atm and it would take about 2 minutes max to copy them over.

Tough Choice

If I was going for sentimental value/cool factor: My signed copy of Prince Valiant

If I'm going for what I'm likely to get the most use out of: My D&D Rules Cyclopedia (even though I don't use all the optional rules in there, it's nice to have the extras)

I would save the shoe box I keep my homebrewed Kabal CCG cards in. Any game I spend 8 years desiging redesigning and redesiging then 2 years playtesting and expanding not to mention countless hours printing and cutting the actually cards themselves ... deserves to be saved....

Then there is my folder of character sheets going back 30 years .....

But then the magic cards are actully worth money and those cupboards have 1500 lead miniatures in that I spent 3 years at university painting .... hmmm... can't I have a wheel-barrow of stuff ?

:)

Hey is my Deities and Demigod with the Cthulu Mythos stuff in still worth anything ?

Um, I have copies of the most important game books to me in both my car and locker at work. So, I'm not worried about a fire.

I know, I'm nuts.  :D

(They are Classic Traveller, Mongoose Traveller, Basic D&D, Expert D&D, and Labyrinth Lord.)
