Quote from: Jaeger;1130499I like it as well, even though my homebrew Star Wars campaign isn't d20 system based, it is still good to rip ideas from.

That's actually what I use Pundit's stuff for. Not a fan of d20 based systems, but anyone can convert stuff over to a different system if you understand what the game is trying to do mechanically. I find it rather straight forward to then mimic a similar effect in my system of choice.

I already have Lion and Dragon, and So I did a bit of a bundle buy with star adventurer, getting cults of chaos, and the medieval old school companion as well. While I'll be translating what I use to a different system, Pundit is really the only one putting out medieval-authentic stuff, so for me they serve as good references that save me LOTS of time rather than having to do the research myself.

Thank you very kindly!

I got this tonight in PDF format, as it's only 39 pages.
I printed it out as well, as it's black and white and I have a Laser printer, which is cost effective for printing out that low amount of pages vs ordering a physical copy and getting it delivered to Australia.

I was in 2 minds about getting this, as I already run Stars without Number and associated RPGs. So wasn't sure if there was much point in getting it.
Still, at a $4 (about $6 AUD) price point for a PDF, who cares really. I spent more than that on a cheap lunch today.

I was pleasantly surprised. I was a bit skeptical at first, given the low amount of pages.
But once I read through it and saw there's no setting information or bestiary, I understood why a OSR game like this would have such a low page count.

The information for races is very high level, giving you a short description of each race, leaving most of the fluff detail up the GM. Which is fine given the brevity of this system.

I like how the classes are described and giving  an option for a very random element for advancement, Psychic abilities and so on.

The equipment lists also suffice, leaving a lot of the detail up the the imagination of the GM, but having a sound and simple mechanics system there to be used.

I like how the space combat is largely narrative too. SWN has a simple (although more complex than this) space combat system too.
There's some great critical hit results, which will make space combat interesting.

There's critical hits for personal combat too, which is nice. It's possible to get limbs blown off or one shotted with a shot to the head for example.
There's a possibility to take damage to CON as well for crits, which are slower to heal, which I like too.

There's a decent but not huge list of Psychic powers, which seem pretty well balanced I think. So if you're running a game with Psychic powers, they look a lot of fun.

The skill system is very simple and has just enough skills to get by with, which I like given the OSR nature of this RPG.

I could see myself running this for impromtu RPG sessions, one offs or just a campaign that's run whenever and have players drop in and out, as character gen is super simple.

I'll Probably generate an adventure using the adventure generator in SWN.
I notice this doesn't have anything like that at all. No GM table tools at all. Which is ok given the price point and I have LOADS of SWN material to work with, which would work fine with this.

This is a pretty bare bones system only RPG, which I quite like for what the intent is I think.

I'll probably try to get a few people around to try this out soonish, given our lockdown status is relaxed quite a bit here in Australia.

Thanks for this mini-review. I'm very glad that you liked it!
