Would a Samurai become a Death Knight or their own type of undead?

Seems like Magic Users become Liches, Clerics become Huecuvas, and Fighters or Paladins become Death Knights (the last two as a form of punishment) but what about a Samurai? Is he on the Death Knight Track but with a different look or is he a special bunny with his own cursed death Ronin who cannot reincarnate or find peace sort of thing? Does he become a servant of Treason as his Daimyo?

How about Monks? Do they fall into some rowdy chaotic state with a corruption punch? Do they go hopping corpse vampire? Are they bound in shameful hunger beads that they have to work off as links of a karma chain forged by akuma that bind them to their old fallen illusion of self?

Do Bards become Keith Richards?

Can high level thieves who steal the book containing the secret of shadows and write their true name therein become one with the dark so they can forever burglarize anything from anywhere?

Don't know if it varies in whatever edition you're playing, but clerics make good mummies. Byronic bards would be a natural fit for vampires. Death knights are traditionally fallen paladins, not fighters. Fighters, and presumably samurai, can become skeletal warriors. That would work with monks, as well. Or some corrupted version of Taoist immortals. Samurai might also fit with revenants, if they have some unfinished violent duty. Though it's not a 1:1 mapping; there doesn't have to be a nice parity between classes and undead types. It's more important to make an interesting monster than to somehow distribute or balance them evenly. Your thief sounds like Shadowjack.

Ghostmaker

Samurai would fit very well as death knights/graveknights, although lesser samurai might rise as skeletal champions. Such a fate would certainly be regarded as horrific.

Pathfinder has the kurobozu, which is a monk who dies while in violation of his vows. The result is a particularly nasty undead that steals breath, damages Wisdom with its blows, and retains its monk abilities.

Shasarak

Samurai could become Death Knights but because they wield katana and have awesome Chi powers they would be super over powered.
