SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

WotC is hiring.

QuoteWizards of the Coast has just posted two job openings for Roleplaying R&D.

Associate Managing Editor

This position exists because we can't effectively clone Kim Mohan.

As the Associate Managing Editor, you'll prepare editorial turnovers for final publication. It's a fast-paced, quick-turnaround job (in some ways more like magazine or newspaper editing than traditional game or fiction editing), requiring extraordinary attention to detail and mastery of style. It is NOT an entry-level position--for one of those, see below--though the experience qualifications aren't overwhelming by any means.

You'll also have the opportunity to learn from almost certainly the most experienced RPG editor on the planet, Kim Mohan, whose career dates back to the earliest days of Dragon magazine in the 1970s.

Associate Web Specialist

In this position, you'll work with Chris Youngs and the D&D Insider team to bring various forms of online support to the readers. This is a great entry-level position for someone interested in working in the gaming industry...but don't fool yourself: you're not being groomed to be the next great RPG designer. That said, plenty of folks over the years have used similar positions to rise to positions of prominence in the industry--just ask Jesse Decker, Chris Youngs, Matt Sernett, Erik Mona, James Jacobs, etc., etc.

Here's the bad news: Neither position offers relocation expenses, so we're primarily looking for local applicants. (Of course, if you're willing to move yourself on short notice, feel free to consider yourself local--but you should probably point that out in your cover letter and in any interview you participate in.)

I probably won't be involved in the hiring process for either of these positions--neither report to me--so please don't send me queries about them, 'cause I won't know the answers.

Good luck to all applicants!
