This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I want to get the goodness that is the d&d rules cyclopedia. My PC would never manage the pdf download though. The cheapest i've found the hardback book here in the UK is £59! Nearly $120! I can't manage to drop that kind of money on it. Anyone got a cheaper source?

I think that there is one at the FLGS for $15 on the used shelf, though I'm literally broke right now. I'll PM you the URL for the shop and the name of the guy who may be able to help you with that purchase.

Who have you tried to buy the download from? Can you get them to mail you a CD instead?

C.W.Richeson

I got mine off eBay last year - just had to wait a while until one in the price range I wanted came up.  I think I spent around $20.

A very good suggestion.

I'll see if RPGnow can send me a disc instead then. I've already e-mailed the shop James mentioned. But if i can get a disc of the download, that would cut down on postage at least.

Dr Rotwang!

I spent, I think, $25 Cdn on my copy of the RC, shipping included.

I'm honestly not sure I'll ever get to use it - my group has a strong bias against all old forms of D&D it turns out - so it's about 90% likely I'm willing to let mine go for right around that. Let me think on it a little, if you end up without other recourses.

That would indeed be groovy gravy CA! That bloke on the ebay auction doesn't like little under 10 feedback buyers like myself and demands e-mails to 'check you out' before you're allowed to bid or he'll ignore it. Bizarre. No reply from him yet, so i'm not sure whether it's worth proceeding on that tack.

Quire

How does he get to ignore bids selectively? Can you even do that on eBay?
