Come now Box? Using the body parts of other persecuted minorities in your campaigns? I mean many of the weaker dragons are BLACK! Don’t Black Dragon Lives matter?
Or are dragons sufficiently ‘othered’ that even you don’t see hunting them down in their homes to steal their wealth and conquer their territories as some form of racial persecution?
Seriously, you whine and complain about ‘othering’ orcs, but then post about murdering using sapient creatures’ to use their body parts? And then wonder why people don’t take you seriously.
Immortal dragons cannot be killed. We harvest their castoff parts, as they shed themselves not unlike snakes and lizards do. They bring rain and good luck. We petition them for stuff. (With the notable exception of Hydra. Who is currently trapped under a rock for all eternity after Hercules ended her reign of terror.)
Those mortal dragons that everybody takes notice of are invasive species that destroy every environment they visit. They lay waste to kingdoms, kidnap princesses to rape, steal ridiculous amounts of precious materials to hoard, devour all our livestock, incinerate all our fields, signal the apocalypse, etc. They basically earned being hunted by dragon slayers.
Those mortal dragons that people don't live in fear of aren't the ones we hunt. We have no quarrel with those.
The kingdom of Prestor John raises dragons for riding and other resources (harvested humanely, of course, we're not psychopaths). It's pretty cool to ride dragons. Just don't ask what they use for tempering weapons and armor. Trust me, just don't.
