Excatly, in LARPS the sport players believe in using their personal skills (athletic, mental, and teamwork) to the fullest. The only roleplaying they imposed on themselves, (the ones that showed good sportmanship) is that they limited themselves to what their character knows in-game.

Hahaha. The funny thing is that at first it was intentional and since then I'd just continued to read his name that way so on a post where I actually didn't mean to offend I ended up doin' it. Hilarious.

Yep, I've always had a fondness for FGUI's games. Especially the spate of boxed games they came out with for several years (Bushido, Daredevils, PsiWorld, Flashing Blades, etc.) They worked hard to tailor the mechanics to the game world.

As much love as Honor + Intrigue is getting I probably need to pick it up. I kind of obsessively collect games from that setting.

Though it's not to my own tastes, I think it does a great job of capturing the genre and it's definitely worth picking up.
