A star map. Specifically the area three hundred light years radius from Sol, Earth, here.  Bonus points if I can scale it out wider to see how big an area that is in galactic terms.

'Cause to be honest I don't know how many stars we are talking about, much less how big a chunk of space. I'm astronomically undereducated here....

For my SF gaming needs, I latched on to a little program called ChView:

It's a free program that comes with some maps. I think the biggest detailed map it has is 100 ly, and that has a lot of stars (over 5000), and it's doubtlessly not complete since I don't think we can see the numerous small red dwarfs all that far away.
