This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Erin Palette who has been a regular and valued contributor to Traveller was mauled by a dog which required expensive reconstructive surgery. Normally I would not post something like this, but she is one of our own. This is a link to her GoFundMe site for those who wish to contribute. Thank you.

This probably ought to go in the main forum.

Thank you. I really didn't know where to put it.

hmmm.... how awkward that I read this with my dog sitting in my lap.  I've never heard of Erin, and I'm not inclined to give via these internet middle men, but I'll check it out. Maybe I'll have a heart for once. It is payday after all, so I'm flush.
For you the day you found a minor error in a Post by Spike and forced him to admit it, it was the greatest day of your internet life.  For me it was... Tuesday.

For the curious: Apparently, in person, I sound exactly like the Youtube Character The Nostalgia Critic.   I have no words.

Yeah, I have no idea who she is either. What Traveller did she write for? If it's T5 then I guess that's the answer. Or is it one of those cases where a person has a different name

So this is main rpg forum material... but Dusk City Outlaws and Blades in the Dark aren't... ok, then.

Apart from that - all the best to Erin.

Cocain is more popular than rp so there is bound to be some crossover.

Forum: Pen & Paper Roleplaying Games (RPGs) Discussion
For discussion of traditional pen-and-paper roleplaying games and anything related to their game mechanics and settings, as well as industry events and gossip. See "Other Games" forum below for story-games.

Not being Traditional, as Pundit defines the term is why DSO got moved. Erin being a published RPG author is why it's an industry event or gossip.

Pretty straightforward.

I don't consider person bitten by (non-game, nor convention related) dog, now needing money for surgery neither industry gossip nor an event, but your miles may vary.

Jeff didn't place it here. He placed it elsewhere and I moved it here. So not Jeff's fault if this being in the main forum bothers you. That said, we occasionally do have posts like this in here. If you object, take it to the help desk or contact one of the other mods. Or just ignore the thread.

For reasons I shall not go into I don't think I'd enjoy gaming with Erin. However I DID find a way to be both a cheap ass skinflint AND do some good... in a particularly fortuitous bit of timing I had need of some of Erin's work on Traveller and have subsequently purchased them.  I enjoy mutual exchanges where both parties benefit, what can I say?

I have enjoyed the blog as well, as Erin seems to have a number of ideas that closely match mine regarding Traveller. Just not regarding the suitability of Hivers as a playable race, nor the value of Droyne...
