This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Glad I found this place!!!

Welcome, I've been fiddling with Lion & Dragon as well.

There isn't an L&D forum here but I did start a general thread for it to hopefully generate some interest, share ideas and ask questions. It hasn't been terribly active but there have been a few people talking about the game.

Screw the SJW snowflakes. Has nothing to do with gaming so they aren't welcome here.

Thank you!

I'll note that I post a lot about the L&D sourcebook material in RPGPundit Presents too. But I love anyone posting about L&D, either questions or actual play or whatever.

Actually, they are incredibly welcome here. That's the difference. theRPGsite is open to everyone, regardless of your politics. Here, they can spew their stupid without any fear of being banned for having the "wrong" opinion.

theRPGsite should never become an echo chamber. There is no point in becoming the dark mirror version of RPG.net.

Plus, I enjoy fresh meat.

No, they are welcome here. Unlike TBP, this place doesn't discriminate. There may be punches thrown but that's to be expected.

I'll throw up support behind this statement. The reason I frequent this forum over others is that its denizens comprise a spectrum of political perspectives. If I wanted an echo chamber I'd talk to myself instead of posting online, limited social interaction though it may be.

IMHO the real value of this place is not the absence of SJW idiocy but in the sharing of ideas and inspiration from OSR authors and contibutors.

As well as the experinece of fellow players/

There is some real talent here.

It's different approaches for different folks.

On TBP you have mods making sure everybody plays nice and nobody gets upset*.  And since everything is offensive to someone, everybody has to tread lightly (hence things like "no bugs as an avatar" discussions).  It's a "Safe Space" forum, and I say that without jest, since that's a label they have given themselves in the recent past.

On this forum the assumption is you take care of you.  This is part of that "adult swim" people talk about**, because you're a grown up and if something upsets you it's up to you to handle it.  Whether that means ignoring something, or blocking users, or just leaving, is up to you to figure out.  This forum has a single paragraph for rules, and the mods (all three of them?) follow it to the exclusion of personal petty bullshit.

(*that the mod staff on TBP act more like a clique that abuses rules as they see fit, rather than an impartial mod staff who obey the same rules they enforce, is a whole -other- problem.  And honestly, it's probably the -bigger- problem with the site.)
(**the other part at times feels like an excuse for people to act like complete and utter little punk ass teenage shits.  The "I'm an adult, so fuck you in your stupid ass because you play elf games wrong" kind of adulting.)
