This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Any video games you'd like to see as paper RPGs?

I could see PAC MAN as a cool survival horror game. You are running around trying to scrounge food and shelter while these giant yellow balls are wondering around eating everything in their path. Then the survivors discover potions/magic that allow them to bring the fight to the balls!

Sort of like The Langoliers I guess...

The movie Pixels brought a similar theme.
Old School? Back in my day we just called it "School."

And Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl.

Resident Evil

GTA could be done with Car Wars/Autoduel+Gurps for the RPG parts.

Resident Evil could be done with the original Beyond the Supernatural or possibly d20 Moderns Urban Arcana?

Disgaea and Persona. Disgaea would be a blast playing as different overlords with your own minions joining up to fight the baddest overlord in the multiverse. Persona would be a lot of fun playing as high schoolers by day and demon slayers by night.

There is an RPG where your bonds with friends fuel your powers. That would fit Persona well. Can't remember it's name now.

Fallen London and Sunless Sea.
In the year 18.., the bats stole London and took it to the shore of a subterranean sea in a massive cavern a mile under surface. Now London and the Londoners share their new habitat with devils from Hell; snakes and cats that live in dreams and the other side of mirrors; survivors and descendants of the previous four cities that fell; the quixotic and perilous islands of the Underzee; an ever-growing number of people who just don't die like they're supposed to; a continent of dangerous and forbidden miracles strictly controlled by the deathless natives; soul-stealing monkeys; anarchists; and the mysterious Echo Bazaar, whose cloaked Masters will trade in anything and everything.
All is well and all is well and all manner of thing will be well. A reckoning will not be postponed indefinitely.
Obvious troll is obvious. RIP, Bill.
