This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

So...we're about a month away from the Big Dance, GEN CON INDY!

:haw:

Does everyone have their travel plans set?

I'll be liveblogging and doing updates from the Con (including photos) for The RPG Site, so if anyone has anything at the show they think I should check out, please let me know, so I can make sure to get to it!   And yeah, I'll tell it like it is.  ;)

And yes, I will be covering the ENnies again this year.  ;)  I'll also be on the GM panel for the "GM-Fu" seminar Saturday--don't miss it!!!

(Yeah, we had another thread on this a bit ago, but its been a while, and I'm getting excited).

Jared A. Sorensen

I'll be there at the "Burning Dead" booth with Luke Crane. Jason Roberts will also be in attendence. We're running game design and publishing panels and I'm producing the 2nd "Inside the Game Designer's Studio" with Paul Tevis interviewing Monte Cook.

I'm also working on a special game for the con called Memento Mori. It's a LARP and it takes place in the dealer's hall...

Caesar Slaad

I'll be at... no booth whatsoever this year. I'm going as a total player (well, GM too, but you get what I mean.)

I'll be running Spycraft, Traveller, and Mars d20.
The Secret Volcano Base: my intermittently updated RPG blog.

Running: Pathfinder Scarred Lands, Mutants & Masterminds, Masks, Starfinder, Bulldogs!
Playing: Sigh. Nothing.
Planning: Some Cyberpunk thing, system TBD.

Rezendevous

I can't wait; the next month cannot go by fast enough (even though I have three games to prep and a condo to clean for when my folks come over to petsit).  I'm running WFRP on Thursday afternoon, Godlike on Friday afternoon, Wushu on Saturday morning, and playing Conan on Saturday afternoon.  I kept the nights open for get-togethers and/or games that I decide to play at the con.

Although, what's with the locations of the games this year?  They're all over the place.  Only one of my games is in the convention center, but the others are in the Hyatt and the Omni.  I'm glad I don't have anything scheduled on either side of them; they're short walks from the ICC but a ways to go if you're in a hurry.  Is some of the space in the ICC that was for RPGs last year now being used for other things?

EDIT: Apparently, it's due to the construction/expansion of the convention center.

I'll be there.  My #1 goal is to meet as many nifty folk as possible :)

I'll definitely be there with my biz partner, Chris, manning the Epic RPG/Dark Matter Studios booth.  I lurk a bit more these days - just got married yesterday and am off to a honeymoon - but I'd love to meet any of you all from the site.  Stop by and say hello!  :D

And man, I am trying, really, really hard to have a review done for you ASAP.  But it has been craziness, what with switching jobs and all.  But so far, thumbs up on the new ed!  Same stuff I loved about the first books, only combined and cleaned up a bit!

(And yeah, that'll be the gist of that review, only, ya know, longer). :D

I'll be there. Once I have my official WotC schedule of stuff to do to justify why Hasbro pays to fly me to Indy figued out, I can see about gaming. I'm thinking of running D&D, and maybe bringing a few classic AD&D modules.

 Your son is named Klaxon??

Stop by the jail table - we could make him an honorary Klingon with a name like that.

Oh yeah - there WILL Be the KLingon " jail there again for charity. its a local Indiana charity that we're benefitting this year. The Gen*Con picked the charity - have the name burried in my e-mail here some where. (I'll find it later - just happy that I have a new computer)

Gen*Con usually chooses the charity that the money goes to . The one year that they didn't we gave it to the MAKE-A WISH foundation.

If any of you recognize me at the table - please be cool and don't bring up any online arguments. Technically I am WORKING for GenCon as a volunteer when I am in the uniform costume and head-bumps  there. If you see me in a regular shirt and jeans, or my sportcoat - thewn I can relax and talk other shit - okay?

IF you want to be really nice, you can donate to the charity - we always appreciate that .
OR let us know if there is a good deal on something in the dealer's room. Since we the same hours as the Dealer's Room - we don't have as much oppurtunity to shop and explore as other con attendees.  Sometimes we trade off a body or two thats working the table , run into the dealers room and purchase something. Not always, but sometimes that works out.

We're gamers too.
The rest of the year I'm in regular clothes and game almost every weekend or work at the Game Store.
