This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

What's the difference in them?  I own both and I'm not seeing much, but wanted to check before I chuck my now much tattered Avalon Hill copy on which the binding has completely disintegrated.

The Avalon Hill edition has a hidden treasure map that can, if deciphered correctly, make you rich beyond your wildest dreams.

If you own the three "Core" GW hardcovers (RuneQuest, Advanced RuneQuest and RuneQuest Monsters) you have everything that came in the 'deluxe RuneQuest' book/boxed set from Avalon Hill, except the Glorantha book.

I beleive most of the Gloranthan monsters from the Glorantha Book (Book 5 in the DX RQ boxed set) made it into the RQ Monsters hardback.  But that's about it.

So, if you don't care about the 'intro to Glorantha', go ahead and toss out your old, falling apart AH edition.

Are the GW RQ hardcover bindings as bad as their other hardcover RPG bindings? As in they tend to fall apart as soon as you look through the book?

For RQ3, the very late period all in one softcover from Avalon Hill is nice, well made, and includes an index an errata. Has all the books from the complete AH RQ3 boxed set including the Intro to Glorantha one. Likely cheaper too.

You'll find one in every box of delicious, oven-toasted RQIII.
