Games you want to run

Right now I'd like to run:

Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 1st/2nd edition modules: you know, Enemy Within, Thousand Thrones, Doomstones, likely in sequence.

Scion: I was thinking of an Aztec gods-only game, in the vein of Tarantino/Rodriguez

BASH Ultimate Edition: Cosmic style supers, more like Legion (or L.E.G.I.O.N.) than Ion Guard's take on the Green Lantern Corps.

Smallville: Xavier Academy/Teen Titans

like my ol' friend The Butcher, a Labyrinth Lord take on classic BD&D/AD&D modules

a GOO Tékumel coming of age hunting clan story

I'm preparing to run a Game of Thrones, pre-Blackfyre Rebellion campaign

oh hell, throw in Dawnforge, Agon, Riddle of Steel and Dead of Night, for which I don't have so many ideas laid out.

And maybe, maybe (prepares to get slapped in the head), some story game just to get a party flavor... The only one I ran, The Mountain Witch, was a blast, with the inherent treachery and all
GMing: Game of Thrones d20, Vampire the Requiem
Playing: Warhammer Fantasy 2e

Quote from: Philotomy Jurament;462656Ooh, nice one.  I *did* run this (with Rolemaster) back in college.  It was a blast, and is an awesome setting.  And yeah, it didn't have a Middle Earth "feel," at all, but the feel it did have was super cool.  You should make time to run this, if you ever have the opportunity.

Thanks for your take on The Court of Ardor.  :)

You're right: I really should run it, if the opportunity arises.  I've been intrigued with the campaign setting for almost three decades now.  I'm a big fan of Terry Amthor's early RPG work, such as Ardor, The Cloudlords of Tanara, and Jaiman.  (In contrast, the 'Shadow World' stuff he's developed over the past two decades is way too high-powered and detailed in nature, with 50-page timelines, etc.)

No doubt I'll change a few things, but the core elements of the Ardor setting are indeed very cool.

  • Amber - I want to give diceless a shot, and I love the setting. Unfortunately Basic D&D doesn't have enough rules for one of our players, so I'm guessing this system is impossible.
  • Zombie - Any system, tho9ugh I've got all Flesh Must Be Eaten, so it'd probably be that. I want to do a one shot where the game starts with us sitting around the gaming table, a zombie smashing through the window and dragging me out, then me handing them their character sheets and saying "welcome to the zombie apocalypse."

Silverlion

Hellas: I've owned it for a while just never got a group around to it.

Traveller: Mongoose Traveller to be accurate. I've just got so much going on it and Hellas are lamentably left in the dust.

Would like to run a sort of mix of the Temeraire novels and Johnathan Strange and Mr. Norrel. A sort of Regency fantasy game with the Napoleonic War as a backdrop/source for adventure. I've toyed with the idea of doing it with "For Farie Queen and Country" but haven't given it much thought.

Want to run Elric again using the Mongoose MRQ II rules.

Eventually want to run Starblazers or some other larger-than-life space opera game. Been too long since I've run one of those.

You do know about In Harm's Way: Dragons!, right? Just checking!

Basic D&D doesn't have enough rules for me either---I'm a HERO System fan! :)

But I do like Amber too, although I wish that things were a bit more nailed down in some cases (especially given the adversarial nature of some of the Amber games, it is nice not to have to rely too much on GM fiat).

Heh, I had no idea. That looks like a good chunk of what I need. I'll think about picking it up.

If I had the time and could find the players, the games I'd like to run are:

Silver Age Sentinels: For some reason I am fond of this game. I have and will run the tri-stat or d20 version.

Any Palladium game: Again I know that these games can be a royal pain to run and the rules are antiquated, but I like the books and wish I could find people willing to play the games.

Mutants & Masterminds/DC Adv.: I just don't get to run this system enough. I bet I didn't get the chance to run 2e M&M more than half a dozen times.

Hollow Earth Expedition: This is in my top 5 favorite games. The system is fast, easy and the books are gorgeous.

Serenity/BSG: Cortex isn't the best system, but I've wanted to run a hybrid/mashup game of these two since they were released.

There are several things I do want to run or want to run again:

- I'd really like to run another Burning Empires game. Seeing the planet quite literally burn around the characters and seeing the chracters struggle against personal tragedy in front of this background was most amazing.
- I also want to run a leverage/Star Trek game with the characters being the crew of a starfleet vessels. I'd exchance the standard leverage roles for command, engineering, science, security and ambassador and then just have a go at it. Should work wonderfully, but my usual group has one player with a dislike of star trek.
- I wouldn't mind another go at Polaris as it is as close to playing and not gamemastering as I can usually stand to get.

Cool! I was curious to know if you knew it existed. :D

The dragon combat mechanic is easily detachable from the game itself for ease in porting, if you prefer another system.

I keep seeing old D&D basic boxed sets for sale online. I am considering buying one and forcing some of my friends to go thru "Keep on the Borderlands"
THIS ONE HAS BEEN TOUCHED BY THE SAVAGE FINGER OF THE ALL-KNOWING!

I haven't finished reading Legends of Anglerre (I'm around page 170 right now) but I already know I want to run this game.

I just need a group now, heh.

The Laundry's top of my list. Not sold on the actual novels but I think it's a great RPG setting.

A Life on Mars type cop show set in the 70s, probably using BRP. Didn't like Ashes to Ashes so I would have my own version of what the PC who thinks he's from the future is up to.

Savage Worlds Space 1889. Something just irresistible about about the setting and SW seems like the ideal match for it.

A light and fun 4-colour super hero thing using ICONs,

"Weird Fantasy" RQII. With ray guns, cursed grimoires, ancient ruins, living deserts and giant, bat-winged apes.

A long-held wish if I could every afford the collections. The Trigan Empire.

Grand Theft Mos Eisley
Been working on this for con game using Savage Worlds. Pretty much everyone's a smuggler, bounty hunter, or other scum and your ships broke. It's several months pre-A New Hope so no Jedi dammit. You get to boost several custom vehicles for a local minor crime lord because he's the one who has the parts you need. Chaos ensues.

Zothique
I've been absorbing all of Clark Ashton Smith's cycles lately. I want to run a few games with Carcosa or one of the other Retro-Clones.

NightLife
One of my favorites from Stellar Games. I've updated most of the Edges and Flaws to D6 for a smoother rules set. Now I just have to plot out a game and run it.

WWII Supers
Ran this a while back as well. Savage Worlds WWII books + Necessary Evil/Super Powers books. Bloody and nasty War is Hell stuff. And guys throwing tanks. :D

Skull Face
We already started this one a couple of years ago but I want to finish it. It's 1920's Pulp using REH's "Fu Manchu" knock off Kathulos of Atlantis.
Violent pulp fun.

Historical One-Shots
Nothing fancy. Viking, Crusades, Colonial America, etc with Retro Clones or Savage Worlds. Most have a Pulp or Horror bent.
