This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Fuck 'em all I'm running C1 tonight.

With the poison gas timer? You gotta use the poison gas timer.

Great choice! One of the best modules of all time. Are you going to put them on the clock?

AWESOME. One of my favorites.

It's a great adventure. Will you be using the three pregens? I like how they make the adventure really easy to drop in and run.

Let us know how far they make it.

I'll try to remember to let you know.

My first thought was that would make the module easier, but I realize that it means the party has 2.3 times the opportunities for someone to get the party killed.

Twice I've run it with groups that died in the first room.

50 some keyed entries in 2 hours

What a waste of a module if they have to skip half of it to survive. You're a shit DM. Your game is worthless if you put all of that work into something that the players are just going to miss anyway.

Fuck, I seriously can't keep this up. How do the grid-masters do it?

Thanks for reminding me that there were some really good modules that didn't reward you with xp and gold.  You were rewarded if your character lived to adventure another day!

I love timed adventures. At the Palladium Open House years ago, Kevin ran a great 2 hours real time event to save the nation from being plunged into the hell as a mass sacrifice. We made it by 13 minutes and the second hour of the game was nigh-pure panic by the players.

I have run C1 with a real time 4 hour timer and it worked great. It's true that the players don't get to experience the whole dungeon and don't get to explore all the bits.

If you like C1, hunt down The Pyramid of Suberus by Judges Guild. Its in issue 7 of Pegasus magazine.

It's a racial perk.

At first I was confused what the hell C1, but google helped - there is a really good NWNified version of the mod that I remember fondly. Heck, we played entire from Against the Giants to Queen of Demonwed Pits there. Good times, good times, and good modules.
Furthermore, I consider that  This is Why We Don\'t Like You thread should be closed

I don't know what brand of paint thinner the last few posters in this thread have been chugging tonight but the game was a stone groove.  Poison gas threatening everyone, F I N A L L Y killed a player with the Nereid (and now she's animated dead), they think they offed the vampire and have its magical axe, almost drowned them in room 13...everyone had a ball.

Ho ho ho. I've run this module four times, and it was a blast on every single occasion, even the two TPKs. One party got out of the dungeon by

using a stone to flesh scroll on a weak external wall above the poison gas tiers, and digging themselves out with their weapons through the meat. :D

Same here. So for the rest of us, here is the Wikipedia summary.

QuoteThe Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan is an adventure module for the Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) fantasy role-playing game, set in the World of Greyhawk campaign setting for use with the 1st edition Advanced Dungeons & Dragons rules. It is the first in the C-series of modules, a set of unrelated adventures originally designed for competitive play, with the C representing the first letter in the word competition.[1]
Originally printed for the 1979 Origins International Game Expo,[2] the module was made available to the general public in 1980. The Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan received generally positive reviews from critics and was ranked the 18th greatest Dungeons & Dragons adventure of all time by Dungeon magazine in 2004.[3]
New! Cyberblues City - like cyberpunk, only more mellow. Free, fully illustrated roleplaying game based on the Fudge system
Bounty Hunters of the Atomic Wastelands, a post-apocalyptic western game based on Fate. It\'s simple, it\'s free and it\'s in colour!
