Hags are a
universal trope across the world. Black Annis (English), Baba Yaga (Russian), Spearfinger (Cherokee), Yama-uba (Japanese), Soucouyant (Caribbean), etc.
In many cases they double as vampires, draining the life from youthful victims to sustain themselves like Elizabeth Bathory. Folklorists call the latter the "vampire witch" archetype; contrary to modern expectations, they're generally unrelated to the reanimated corpses of Slavic folklore.
In order to think that fairy tale hags are an antisemitic caricature, you would need to have never read or watched any fairy tales in your entire life.
It's as ridiculous as those people who say Graf Orlock was an antisemitic caricature because he has a big nose and ears (a combination of extreme age and rodent features) and commands plague rats to infest Germany. The writer on
Nosferatu,
Henrik Galeen, was himself Jewish. Why would he write the villain as an antisemitic caricature of his own ethnicity?
There's a comedy website run by Jewish guys who
rate whether or not fictional characters are Jewish or not. They say
Mother Gothel is "Not a Jew", admit
Fagin is "Sadly, a Jew" , claim
Shrek is a "Borderline Jew", and lament that the
Loch Ness Monster is "Sadly, Not a Jew."
